Statement of Purpose
Engineers celebrating the advent of a new millenium should take pride in the amazing technological advances in the last few decades. From the first telephones and radars to cellular telephony, the Global Positioning System, the Internet and the Bluetooth, the progress has been nothing short of astounding. ‘Research’ stands to be the sole reason for all these advances, and no doubt, graduate studies provide the highly qualified individuals who are the life-blood of these advances. And all this gives me a strong motivation to pursue graduate studies and to enjoy all my life amidst the adventures of a research career. On my long-term career plans, I hope to work in Computer Labs as a research scientist or a faculty member in a university.
My career got a headstart with my selection in the highly competetive engineering entrance examination, IIT-JEE, conducted by the IITs and IT-BHU. A flair for Mathematics and a perpetual passion for computers led me to choose Computer Science as my undergraduate major at IT-BHU. The highly competitive study environment and an exhaustive and robust curriculum in Computer Science gave me an opportunity to study the most diverse areas of this field with wide coverage of the topics. The terms ‘research’ and ‘graduate studies’ entered in my life as soon as I entered IT-BHU. The tough competition among the seniors of the institute to pursue graduate studies in the best possible university motivated me to carry a research-oriented approach towards my subjects and prepare myself for graduate studies from the very beginning. My undergraduate studies have laid a firm foundation of basics and fundamentals of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Mathematics.
My parents have always motivated me to remain the best wherever I study. My obeisance to their teaching is verified by the fact that I stand first in a class of 37 students, with an outstanding GPA of 9.73 on a scale of 10. I also stand first in about 350...
