It is a true statement that Facebook can be used for educational purposes but are the students really going to stay focused on the assignment if they cannot control what’s going to pop up next on their walls. Are students really expected to turn off chat and ignore distractions when it’s time to work on the assignment? The school board cannot possible believe that children are going to do something most adults don’t do. The school environment is supposed to be designed to prepare student for the next level of life, college, then a career/job. Most careers/jobs do not use social networks like Facebook as a tool of communications; even though some careers do, it would not be in good practice to start students off this way especially without the appropriate training that most student do not possess.
Interviews in sociological research are generally used as a means of gaining information regarding people’s way of thinking about certain things, their insights, and ideals. They also attempt to focus greatly on life experiences. There are several types of interviews used in sociological research; structured, semi-structured, and the unstructured interview. In a structured interview, there are predetermined questions asked of the person being interviewed, the respondent is asked the same set of questions in the same order, and there is usually a set choice of possible answers. The semi-structured interview allows some room for closed and open-ended questions giving the interviewer the chance to make some changes in the questioning format and order, and adding questions as they go along depending on the responses received.

I will make sure that I reassure the individual and explain that their safety is the most important and that it is my duty of care to tell the manager. I will make sure that I let my manager know what has happened immediately and pass this information on in private and make sure my report is also confidential. I will only report and record the facts - what the individual has told me. Depending on what is found out the individual might need to continue to be monitored and a plan of care will be put in place that must be followed to protect the service user. I will make sure that I let my manager know and report and record this in private but if the allegation is about my manager or the manager is unwilling to do anything, I will follow my company policy of reporting abuse and report to CQC.
When it comes to understanding the arts and sciences and creating and developing a research program, one must keep in mind the importance and concerns of the treatment of participants and ethical conduct. Research can be defined as being the gift of intellect, curiosity, and skill, all coming together to arouse one’s desire to investigate questions, explore, and create new processes or products that will be beneficial for all individuals and society as a whole. While keeping in mind how important research is, it must be remembered that participants play a very important role in research and helping to find answers to the why’s, what’s, when’s, and how’s questions posed in stemming research activities. It is also very important that research participants be treated ethically and with the greatest respect, when choosing to participate in research projects. Ethics is a very important part of the context for compliance.
How can the use of mental images, concepts and schemas to organise our thinking help us to improve our memory? Our memories allow us to learn from previous experience and they subsequently define who we are. The brain is a highly complex organ and each function can involve using several areas of the brain. The plasticity of the brain means we are able to learn and memorise new information. In this essay I will explore three methods of memory techniques, mental images, concepts and schemas and demonstrate how they are affective in helping organise out thoughts and improve our memory.
