Pip Proposal (Part A) 1. 1. Synaesthesia- does this neurological phenomenon provide any benefits to the human mind. 2. School subjects- why don’t students learn life skills to help them in the future rather than things that will not help in day to day life of being an adult. 3. Aokigahara; the suicide forest- why is suicide growing in japan and what are the stresses that cause this. 2. Synaesthesia- Does this neurological condition provide any benefits to the human mind. 3. Continuity and Change- my topic relates to this depth study regarding change and how this condition has become more well-known over time and the increasing amount of studies that have been conducted. 4. 5. A cross-cultural perspective that I will include in my project is to use my experiences with synaesthesia and compare them to other people’s experiences with synaesthesia to find any similarities or information regarding why and when this phenomenon occurs. 6. 1. Survey- through the use of this methodology I can gain a wide variety of answers and information both quantitative and qualitative. 2. Structured interview- through this I can receive a much deeper personal insight into the topic of synaesthesia and the effects it has on these people. 3. Focus group- with this methodology I can gain a mix of opinions through conversation and casual interactions to see if anyone changes their mind and to gain detailed information on the subject. 7. In order to complete the PIP task I must remain ethical in my practices to ensure that the information I receive is confidential, I perform safe activities to gain this information, and remain sensitive when asking questions to interviewees that may trigger deep or negative emotions. When gathering information I will inform all people who partake in my surveys, interviews, and focus groups that their names will not be
