Social Group SOC/100 October 9, 2010 Shala Powell Social Group Social groups are popular and just about everyone belong to one. These groups are either chosen by family, church, school, or something you came up with for you and your friends. They each mean something different to different people because no one group is the same. I have belonged to a few groups and each one taught me something that I can carry with me throughout life. My primary groups would be my family, friends, tennis buddies, and dancing buddies. My family is primary because I see them often and have a lot of fun. They were there before I knew what friends were and will still be there when all others perish. I have a big family and time spent with them is worth every second. I only have six friends and only three of them go back to school days. We do just about everything together from partying to working together. I do not know what I would do without them because they are always there no matter the situation. My friends are like my family since we have been through so much together and are still finding adventures to embark on. The tennis buddies and I play tennis from spring to the middle of fall. Most of them are my friends, but we have so much fun and reminiscing about when we played in high school. The good times we had and are still having every year are unstoppable. Now my dance buddies has to be my favorite people yet, because I love dancing. This is my passion and we get together and come with dance routines or just learn the new dances that are out. We get in our zone and dance for hours. Dancing for us relieve any stress we have and help us forget about the little problems in everyday life. Plus, it is real good exercise for us to keep us in shape a little. My primary groups run circles around my secondary. The secondary groups are my coworkers, team
