IDENTIFY THE DIFFERENT REASONS PEOPLE COMMUNICATE : Communication is an important part of socialising we form relationships we express our opinions, feelings, emotions and needs through communication we also use communication to give and receive instructions and information to gain knowledge and to understand and be understood. 1.2. EXPLAIN HOW EFFECTIVE COMMUNCATION AFFECTS ALL ASPECTS OF THE LEARNERS WORK: Affective communication is key to ensuring the information we give either verbally or on written reports and documents are accurate, concise and informative which will ensure we are all working to achieve the same targets and outcomes. 1.3. EXPLAIN WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO OBSERVE AN INDIVIDUALS REACTION WHEN COMMUNICATING WITH THEM: A service user may not be able to communicate verbally observing there reaction, expression or gesture would confirm that they understand you. UNIT 1 INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION IN HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE OR CHILDREN’S AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S SETTINGS 2.1 SHOW HOW TO FIND OUT AN INDIVIDUALS COMMUNCATION AND LANUAGE NEEDS, WISHES AND PREFERENCES: The best way would be to ask the service user although this may not be possible so you could discuss with family members if there is no information in the care plan you should take advice from your line manager. 2.3 SHOW HOWAND WHEN TO SEEK ADVICE ABOUT COMMUNCATION: If there is a communication barrier either through a disability which the service user has or there expressive difficulties and there are no specifics in the care plan then you should contact your line manager for advice.
