PThrough my interviews and research, I have found that people enjoy participating in activities/sports that are closely related to their cultures and place of birth. Those from Spanish speaking countries where soccer is quite common often enjoy soccer as an activity where as someone who has grown up in an American society where things like baseball and football are common, tend to gravity towards those sports. I have also found that your family has a lot to do with the activities you enjoy doing. A teenager who has a mom who is a runner would probably be more likely to enjoy running than someone who has had no influence like that. Justin Dawn, age 16, was asked what his favorite way to stay in shape was and he responded weight lifting.
Playing soccer has not only given me a love for the game, it has given me skills that I can use throughout my life. Leadership, teamwork and responsibility are the three most important skills that I learned while growing up in the life of soccer.
Then starting from the age of 10 to 20 years old the individual will start it’s physical training. This will include, running, weights, coordination exercises and flexibility exercises. The age of 10 is also the best age to start playing tournaments and becoming competitive. If the child starts to play in tournaments at this age it will be much easier to have a higher Tennis level at the age of 18. To have a chance to become a Tennis professional, the individual will need a schedule of practice hours and tournaments per year.
The frequency of this course was very high for having more than 60 minutes of play for two weeks straight. This is an excellent amount of physical activity for a day to day amount of exercise. It was important to have this daily physical activity, however difficult to play for the entire hour and a half. Even so, it was beneficial because we were able to take breaks and play with the intensity that we wished. With higher intensity came a higher heart rate, and overall better cardiovascular health.
For the past three years I have been part of the U.S.R.A which stands for Utah Soccer Referee Association. I work as a referee (ref.) two to three games a week and have an hour class every week that go along with it. The class is in regards to riffing; it keeps my skills fresh and up to date so I can perform my job well. I do it because I love the sport and want to help out the community.
An important person to involve in a child’s life from the start of these activities is their pediatrician, who can recognize these risks, and help monitor the health of the athlete in an attempt to reduce the risks associated with high levels of intensity. It has appeared over the last decade that the number of children who specialize in a sport from a very young age train year-round, and compete at an “elite” level. With the media coverage of events such as gymnastics, tennis, swimming, diving, and figure skating, these competitors are obviously very talented,
Another reason soccer is my favorite sport is from all the memories I have from playing the game. All the years I have played, I have won many games but also lost many games as well. It was great if my team won the game but even if we lost,we still had fun. We all enjoyed getting to play together. An experience that I have had playing soccer I will always remember happened when I was in tenth grade.
From the results of our survey that we did, we found that 100% of the people in our age group (15-17 years old) showed that enjoyment was the main factor that encourages them to get involved in physical activity. A reason for this could be that if people enjoy participating in a sport, they are most likely to be motivated to want to succeed and give it their all in whatever sport they are undertaking. Also, by people knowing that they are getting good results in their sports e.g. winning games, this gives them satisfaction and enjoyment to motivate them to train and work towards gaining more success. Another factor as to why people said that enjoyment was what encouraged them to participate in physical activity could be because with some sports, especially team sports, enjoyment can be gained through developing friendships.
I even spent more time playing soccer and spent less time of my school studies. I paid more attention to developing my soccer skills and that’s when I saw my grades dropping to the point where I almost failed. I believed that at that time, Mr. Luu was trying to teach us that we should nurture our talents and work hard to achieve our goals in life. As a young boy, I misinterpreted his advice and only saw what materialistic items could be obtained with certain talents. My grandmother always stressed the importance of education and how it is needed in order to be successful in society.
