Soap Making Equipment and Tools For every crafts work, there must be an assortment of tools and equipment required for the accomplishment of all processes involved. Similarly, soap making process involves a range of tools and equipment necessary for the process to be accomplished, and for the intended final product (soap) to be obtained. Both commercial and domestic soap making involve various common tools and equipment owing to the fact that there are common basic processes followed. These include the tools and equipment for melt and pour soap making process, as well as the cold process, hot process and liquid soap making process. Finding every tool and equipment required, at times, may be an expensive undertaking. Many people thereby prefer using the “soap making kits,” which provide a more cost-effective solutions. The primary tools and equipment include: (i) Accurate scales of measurement such as digital scale, quick reading thermometer (for monitoring the temperature variations of the molten oils and lye solution), measuring glass cup, stainless steel measuring spoons (for measuring essential oils or fragrance, as well as colorants), glass and heat resistant measuring dishes. (ii) Tools and equipment for mixing- glass mixing bowls, wooden spoons or rubber spatula, stick blender, wood stirrers. (iii) Molding equipment- soap cutter or sharp cutting knife, insulating materials (wool or plastic wraps/containers), and molds (candle mold, silicone bake-ware, soap mold, hard cardboard boxes or wood molds) (iv) Labelling and packaging equipment- shrink wrap machine (for commercial packaging), domestic and commercial computer systems and printers used in making soap labels.
