So you want to study? Effective study habits must be practiced in order for you to improve. It is not sufficient enough to simply “talk or think about” studying, you have to actually do it, and in the process use information from what you do to get better. All too often students nationwide perform poorly in school because they simply lack good study habits. In many cases most students feel that they can do without studying, and still will be able to come out with a positive outcome in the end, or feel that there was too much work given with too little time to complete. Whatever the reason is if students studying skills do not improve, Students are going to continue to test poorly and not reach their full potential. I have observed during the time that I have spent studying lately that I am pretty methodical when it comes to studying and have never really had the discipline I have needed to sit down and effectively study. I know that I am, and always will be a “procrastinator”(wiener-bronner), yet I have always attempted to study during the best time of day for me which seems to always be late in the night. I have always been a night owl and have found that studying at night helps me because I have less distractions, and I can work at my own pace without being pressured and rushed like I feel going throughout the day. Now I know that there are some things I would like to add to my study habits that would benefit me, now if there was only a way to organize it all and better my study habits. Before one person can even start the process of studying, there needs to be a developed schedule. If there is not a plan or schedule it is almost impossible to allocate equal valuable study time. Students might not think this is useful but a good well thought out study plan can be very valuable in the long run. However it’s the students job to construct a plan that suites
