By using strategy, the sniper figures out a way to fool the enemy and kills him. Saving his life by taking out another, felt so bad. With guilt, and loss of lust for the war, the sniper became curious of the identity he had killed. The climax of the whole story happens at the very end when the sniper finds out he killed his own brother. Though, the story’s ending is ironic due to the sniper recognizing that the enemy killed was his brother.
In “The Sniper”, the story takes place during war time, in Dublin, Ireland, in the 1920's. The sniper is on a roof top facing a life or death situation. He has to take down his enemy in order to survive. Both of them engage in gunfire, but the sniper comes out on top. In the end, he finds out he has killed his blood brother who was fighting on the opposite side in the war.
Chapter 4 Main events Introduction of the word Conrad: One of the biggest events of this chapter is the introduction of the word Conrad. The narrator talks about the snipers and what will happen to them when they are discovered. He continues on to say “ He will utter that magical word, Conrad; then we will strike him down”. The word Conrad means friend, the Germans are in the exact same situation as them; so the word Conrad shows that they are equal and when used in battle they surrender. However, we learn that the word has no meaning to the soldiers as they would kill the sniper and any German soldier.
Activity 1 Derrick Bird committed Mass Murder through Cumbria on 2nd June 2010. From the evidence it seems as if the reason for this spree was money related, his father had recently deceased and he wanted everything in his will killing his brother and his lawyer. He was also going through a tax investigation at the time. His motive seems to be personal at first mixed with financial and then turns into a mental disturbance as he kills those at random. His first 3 victims experienced high levels of risk as he specifically targeted them and the rest were of low risk as they had not done wrong or even know Bird.
Soon Martin and Tavington were able to face off, one on one. As Tavington gained the upper hand in their vicious fight, he muttered, "Kill me before the war is over, will you? It appears you are not the better man." As he swang his sword ready to kill Benjamin, Martin stabbed him with a bayonet-fitted musket and replied, "You are right... my sons were better men." So he impaled Tavington in the throat, killing him.
These soldiers killed innocent civilians but these soldiers when they killed these innocent unarmed civilians were thinking in terms of war and not in terms of right or wrong. Like the characters in War and “Hurt Locker” the soldiers in My Lai became so adapt to war that war became the natural thought process. These soldiers thought that they were killing hundreds of Viet Cong that killed some of their own soldiers with mines but they were wrong. The soldiers forced these people into a ditch at the edge of their town and started to shoot all the people in the ditch. This is not something that normal civilians would do this is something that only a society that war has become its natural state would do.
They part ways and they lead their troops in battle. When the battle gets to be too much, Cassius has his friend Pindarus kill him with the same sword that Cassius used to stab Caesar with. He then dies once he gets stabbed. When Brutus hears of Cassius’ death, he has his friend Strato hold his sword out and he runs into it and kills himself, also. I don’t think that Brutus is a tragic hero at all, because he killed himself, and I don’t think that he did it for a good cause.
The war is pretty hard not a lot of people know what Chris Kyle has gone through from losing him friends and platoon to killing terrorists to protect his fellow troops. That doesn’t sound like an easy thing to go through but to be in the marines that is one thing you must mentally prepare your self for what you will experience in the war. Chris Kyle describes the terrorists in this book as being “Savages” because of the things they where doing in order to win the war against the United States. He also had the record of the farthest sniper kill in the world. Which to me is pretty difficult to shot and kill your target on the spot.
But when he decided to go to the war, he killed hundreds of people. One thing in defense of Private Huber, is that he was correct about getting punished. He did not violate any German laws, but he still committed murder. For that, I feel he is
He has an alibi as being a strong supporter of Kennedy and murdered Oswald out of frustration and rage, but we cannot rule out other possibilities. He could have been working with Oswald and after realizing he was caught he murdered him to keep him quiet. The question about that is that he left his wife and dog in the car while he went about doing the deed, which gives him a chance of sudden motivation to kill Oswald without previous
