America began on small businesses and America has to continue to have small businesses to have a good economy. Wal-Mart endangers businesses all over the country because small businesses cannot compete with the superpower on account of Wal-Mart getting goods from places like China. Most people live within thirty minutes of a Wal-Mart and with their lower prices people will continue to shop there without realizing what they are doing to their own economy. Most people don’t realize that saving a few dollars by shopping at Wal-Mart is crippling all the local businesses around their area. Wal-Mart does not care about the American economy because they are thriving the way the economy is now, so American citizens have to stand up for their communities.
But consumers aren't helping their fellow countryman earn his own living by buying these imported items. Consumers are giving their hard-earned money to Walmart to go back to China to buy more items. (Smith & Young, 2004). Walmart has created new jobs for people when they open new stores, but they are underpaid jobs. Many of the positions are part-time, therefore, they are positions without benefits.
It is expensive to run security precautions in any store, which is why so many small stores have none. When a store becomes big enough to afford good security equipment such as cameras and a security/ surveillance team then it is worth it. Security usually pays itself off from the money they get from shoplifters. The basic security system is the detectors found at the entrance of stores. The problem with the detectors is that you have to place a clip of some sort on all merchandise if you want it to be detected when going through a detector.
Can you still live the American dream? The immigration in the United States has become more and more illegal. People are being smuggled every day into the country, only to live at better life, and to start all over, but the success is very limited, since the immigrants live in fear of being deported every day, so they live their live with a low-profile: staying out of trouble and working many hours every day for very low paycheck. Is this really a dream come true? At the moment, there are estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, and it only seems impossible to deport each and every one of them, since it would cost too much, and the idea itself sounds impossible.
FJR has discussed the research with management and highly recommends that they do not open any new locations until further research has been done in other areas. It is very expensive and time consuming opening new locations and Kudler does not have the financial means to do so just yet. What Kudler Fine Foods needs to focus their attention on is other competitor in the market. They can offer coupons or special promotions towards maybe the first of the month which will attract consumers into purchasing more products because most consumers get paid at that time. Kudler will also advertise to the Asian community by having advertisements in their language.
By the morning of the third day, the Cobbs were starting to question the wisdom of launching the product at all; they had already invested a lot of time and money in the product, and without any substantial sales, there seemed little reason to continue. When Cabela’s expressed interest in the product, everything changed. At least one leading retailer was prepared to carry the product. For Russ, the opportunity was a clear win; while Cabela’s would need a retail price of $7.99, the product would be in the market and selling. Matt, however, wondered if the price was too

Nowadays, the retail industry is targeting younger adults and senior citizens for hire and Wal-Mart is especially guilty for this. In reality it’s impossible to make a living working in retail and these targets are easy to manipulate. The majority of Wal-Marts goods are made outside of the U.S. and often in sweatshops. It’s displeasing and although the fine low prices are tempting, some customers will disappear because customers will feel terrible of workers treatment. Without customers, there is no business and this will hurt this large company in the long-term.

People are struggling to survive everyday because they have no food and shelter. These people may always dig through the trash to find something to eat for the day, not knowing if they will find anything. Families may always live in horrible conditions, having no other choice, because they do not have enough money. It’s extremely hard for them to find well paying jobs in these countries. For most of these people it’s nearly impossible to get out of poverty because they were born and raised in that culture, unless other people who aren’t in poverty help them out.
