There are many people in this world do jobs they don't like, but have to do it because they don't have any other ways of income. What come in your mind when you see an average joe win a million dollar using his skill and doing the thing he loves. This will take us back to the picture that I used to present in the class. It was a stage photo of Joseph Cada the World Series Of Poker Main Event champion. The picture was taken few minutes later after he won his 8.5 million dollar first prize in the event.
Other films in which he’s played are Valentine’s Day, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Swing Vote, Henry Poole Is Here, and Balls of Fury. He headlined his first HBO Comedy Special, America’s Mexican, in 2007. Lopez has also performed as part of HBO and TBS’s Comic Relief 2006. In May 2004, his autobiography, “Why You Crying?,” entered The New York Times Bestsellers Top 20. The book was co-written by Emmy winning writer and sportscaster Armen Keteyian.
Film analysis – Slumdog Millionaire A. The film is about a young man from the slum, who competes in the TV-show ’Who wants to be a millionaire?’. For every question he gets, he uses life experience and memories to find the right answer. But unlike any other person, the money is not the biggest reward. He’s looking for the love of his life, his childhood friend, Latika, and he hopes the show can bring them together.
I agree with this because it is clear to see that after reading this article these drug dealers have no other choice but to risk their lives dealing drugs to provide for their family One quote that supports this is “..the foot soldiers earned just $3.30 an hour, less than the minimum wage.” The cause of this problem has a lot to due with the distribution of money in gangs. The gang presented in this article distributes its money like so, the leader takes home $66 an hour, his 3three officers earn $7 an hour and the foot soldiers earn $3.30 an hour. As you can see the distribution is far from fair when 2.2% of the gang takes home more than half the money. Another quote that supports this is “I mean, everyday people struggling to survive, so you know, we just do what we can. We ain't got no choice and if that means getting killed... its what we do around here to feed our family.” Another cause of this problem is the lack of choices they can make.
Another guilt which he felt about his family was the fact that because of the convenience of plastics and throw away containers, they had no time really spent together as a family. Even the family dinner was forgone in place of fast-food and take-out. This was also disturbing and worrisome to Beavan since it went against everything his grandparents tried to teach him. Beavan grew up not but a 5 minute walk away from his grandparents and spent a great deal of time with them. Both having been born and lived though the Great Depression, they had a “Waste not, want not.” attitude that they tired to instil in Beavan.
Like I was saying earlier the most devastating thing to ever happen in my family, is that my parents both went to prison on some drug charges. My mother was involved in it even though she didn’t have anything to do with the it. My father was the one doing the drugs but luckily my god father bailed her out and that’s how I was born in Philadelphia, PA. I used to Show a great deal of hate towards my father when I found out that he was the reason that my mother has problems getting a decent job like her other family members in America. Then later on in my life I learned to love and forget, also that people make mistakes I just have to learn from their mistakes
No one had a cell phone in Sierra Leone so getting lost is a lot more dangerous than it is here. I was found within 30 minutes of being lost, Ishmael was never really found again. His family was dead, his village was most likely burned down, and he was lost in the middle of a war torn country. Being lost was tough for me, but if this same thing happened in Sierra Leone, I would have handled it a lot
Kira Argounva one of the main characters in the story and her family suffered by being poor. Kira father had to shut down his textile shop because their people didn’t have enough money to buy stuff; the government made sure everyone didn’t more money than them because the people would be overthrowing the government and receiving a lot of money. The government has spies to make sure they don’t make a lot if so the people would get sent to jail. For example Leo who is Kiras’ boyfriend that tried to make extra money, but got caught by the spies and they broke into his house then sent him to jail for breaking their law. This shows communism in the
