Slumdog Millionaire The film Slumdog Millionaire has been a multimillion success across the globe. The film critics have gone crazy over this film. The director Danny Boyle, a British film maker and producer has been known for his great film successes like; Shallow Grave, Sunshine and the hit zombie thriller 28 days later. Slumdog Millionaire has been a mega hit around the world and a phenomenon in Europe . The films creates a melodramatic atmosphere what gets your heart thumping and your mind focused throughout the entire movie . The colourful fantasy and the realistic events of the grimy Mumbai shums brings the film to life. The film itself is many films into one, a thriller, drama, crime and gangster, adventure, comedy, musical and romance. The film has much in common with other western Bollywood films of “Boy meets girl, Boy loses girl, Boy ends up with girl”. I would say that this film accurately portrays the poverty in the aspects in a Mumbai life. As the film shows in detail the way living conditions are and the harsh treatments, there are in India. The film actually uses people who are still poverty now. Boyles uses inexperienced child actors who have lived in the shums of Bombay, this makes it really effective because them being in the film may give them a better a future he says “The whole thing came alive “this not only made it more realist but more believable as they might as well just be playing themselves. The film is about a penniless boy called Jamal (Dev Patel) and is journey to find his one true love Latika (Freida Pinto). He surprises India when he goes on the hit TV show “Who wants to be a Millionaire”. He uses his experience of his hard life to answer the questions correctly on the show. However the directors of the show believe is he is cheating because he is just a poor boy who has grown up in the Mumbai slums and has not had a chance
