Slowing the Biological Clock In this article we will be discussing the medical, scientific, holistic and the psychosocial ways to stop the aging process. Slowing the Biological clock refers to how your cells in your body is constantly changing. It’s not all the time about our age but is about how we define the biological, mental and social stages of our lives. There are several ways that will slow down our biological clock such as stress, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and excessive food intake speeds up the aging process while improving stress resistance and modest limiting of food intake seems to slow down the aging process. There are many effects of the aging progress and with time going by that aging leads to a weakening of the body and a loss of acuity of the senses with a rising susceptibility to various diseases such as Alzheimer’s, stroke, heart attack, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, Parkinson’s, arthritis, cataracts, glaucoma and deafness. The symptoms of human aging includes abdominal fat, muscle wasting, a thickening of the skin with deep wrinkles present, poor sleep, cognitive problems like increased short term memory loss, and mood changes that will increase our biological clock ( Factors to Contributing to premature Aging 2006) . Medical Approaches to Stop Aging Medical approaches assisting in the slowing down or covering up of the aging process are numerous. But, not all approaches or practices produce the desired results. Approaches to covering up the signs of aging are commonly seen in practices such as hair removal, hair replacement, or cosmetic surgeries. There are risks and benefits to these procedures and a person must decide if the benefits outweigh the risk. The loss of hair, the wrinkling of the skin, and the growth of unwanted hair are all outward physical signs of aging. Many choose medical approaches to cover up these unwelcomed
