The practice of pre-hispanic handicrafts, such as weaving, ceramics and metalworking, is common throughout the country. In the cities and rural areas there are notable influences of pre-hispanic and mestizo myths, songs and superstitions. Another area where both countries differ is music. Music is another example of the strong ancestral influence still alive in Peru today. Panpipes are one of the traditional instruments that still thrive today at every kind of celebration and ritual.

The only type found in the Hawaiian Islands is Pandanus tectorius. These trees are found almost everywhere in the islands except at the higher elevations. Today they are seen growing mainly as ornamental trees in private yards or public parks. If one goes to any of the beaches along the north shore of Kauai, one will most likely encounter Lauhala groves. The trees have adventitious roots that bud out from the trunk, and the female trees appear to bear pineapples.
History of the Mariachi The best scholarly opinion is that the word mariachi has native roots. One theory is that it comes from the name of the wood used to make the platform on which the performers danced to the music of the village musicians. But whatever the true source, the word today has one meaning that is crystal clear: Mariachi means on of the most exciting and enchanting musical ensembles found anywhere in the world. In the complete Mariachi group today there are as many as six to eight violins, two trumpets and a guitar- are all standard European instruments. Natives, who had their own highly developed musical traditions, quickly mastered European musical practices.
“Songs are funny things. They can slip across borders. Proliferate in prisons. Penetrate hard shells. I always believed that the rights song at the right moment could change history.” These famous words were uttered by Pete Seeger, one of Americas most influential folk singer and songwriter of all time.
One big reason is because even today Seeger is regarded as a 20th century iconic figure, as a pivotal part of the 1960s American folk music revival. According to the Encyclopedia of Folk, Country, and Western Music, Seeger was a "father figure whose contributions as an artist and writer were highly valued by people of all ages in and out of the music field." His use of repetition and borrowing songs that everyone already knew from their childhood were also a primary reason for his success as a folk artist and found of the movements that were spawned by him. His use of the banjo and guitar were also a big help in getting him the attention he needed to get his views and point across to the people. Even when black listed and not allowed on TV and radio he still was able to become a major influence on people as driving force for social change.
America’s democratic and capitalistic system has been a great model for most of the world. There was a time when most nations in the world wanted to emulate America’s economic system and experience American prosperity. This economic system has produced great innovations that have affected the world as a culture. The free enterprise system has produced the invention of electricity, the invention of the car, the invention of the web. America has taken great pride in all these achievements and it also has taken great pride in its Protestant Ethics that according to Webber were a “Calling” from the All Mighty.
Martin Luther King, in my eyes, is considered one of the greatest role models for young people of all ages and races. It's as if no matter where you grow up in the world, wether it be in the U.S. or on the other side of the world, you will come to hear of Dr. King and his work. Another quote I found interesting was, "Injustice anywhere is a treat to justice everywhere. "This is what I think makes him a great role model, because he shows that there are always ways to make a difference, and to be equil is to be one as a whole. I admire and look up to Dr. King and his lessons because I've hurd the stories of struggle and hurt that people, who were just a little different, had to undergo.
