At this stage of the film his isolation to me is self imposed. Rick is constantly pushing people away and disconnecting himself from any relationship that could be forming. However, Rick is not short of admirers. During various occasions we see Rick rejecting Yvonne and Ugarte. He portrays himself as emotionally isolated.
In Cold Blood 4 “Dick wasn’t even in the same room. He only run in when he heard them struggling. Dick was carrying his shotgun, and how he described it was: ‘Smitty took my shotgun and just blew that man’s head off.’ And he says, ‘Dad, I ought to have grabbed back the gun and shot Smitty dead. Killed him ‘fore he killed the rest of the family.’ (page 259) I picked this quote before I finished the book. So it seemed to me that there were conflicting accounts of the way the Clutter family died.
I wasn’t too crazy about him… (Salinger 19).” When Holden was at Pencey he didn’t associate with many people, again showing him being isolated, but Ackley was one of the few he did talk to. If he were to say he had a best friend at Pencey it would be Ackley. Even with that being the case, Holden judges Ackley, making reasons why he doesn’t like him, so he doesn’t feel obligated to spend time with him. Even when someone reaches out to him and wants to talk to him, especially someone like Ackley who doesn’t have friends, Holden still tries to get away from him and isolate himself. Throughout the text Holden continually isolates himself personally, mentally, and socially.
He and others like Gabrielle Giffords are even bringing the parents of the children who were lost in Sandy Hook to make tearful pleas to pass the amendment. Gabrielle Giffords is yet another example that proves my theory. She was shot in the head by Jared Lee Loughner in 2011 in the middle of a constituent meeting she held. Loughner was expelled from college for disruptive behavior and was showing many signs of mental distress prior to the shooting. So much so that his parents disabled his car at night and took his shot gun away from him.

One of Pickton’s friends said that he described how he killed the victims and what he did to them. He showed him handcuffs and acted out what would happen if he had a victim there at the time. His friend said that as Pickton was telling the story it was almost as if there was a girl there. Pickton would first have sex with the victims, shortly after that they would be slaughtered and fed to the pigs so the evidence would be vanished. Pickton also had a crack cocaine addiction which may have led his
The next day Abuelazam had asked a man to help him fix a car of his and killed him as he hit him in the head with a hammer. There was a death outside of the Toledo Church where he has been suspected of stabbing. (npr) Grendel can relate to a serial killer because of the numerous killings he has made throughtout the book. Like serial killers, Grendel kills people for fun or because they had rejected him. Grendel has had a sick mind over a period of 12 years.

The District Attorney then proceeds to tell this author that the gang stated “we murdered him because we couldn’t find her. He was doing just that in July when he was beaten and killed by six police officers” (Gould). Before this accident, Kelly’s father struggled to deal with his son’s ill. If Laura’s law were implemented early, Kelly’s death could have been avoided. There is another example: “Nathan who deteriorated into schizo-affective disorder pulled weapon out when a police unit came to his house, ran outside, and was Tasered to the ground. Nathan is now being charged with assault of an officer.
