Sleep is not a matter of putting our mental and physical activities on hold it’s going through a second state with its own mental and physical liveliness. Our bodies manage sleep in like manner that they manage eating, drinking and breathing. Sleep is an important process to humans and animals allowing their mind and body to rest, since it provides energy conservation, restorations and information consolidation. As Mastin (2013) affirmed that : “The major objective of sleep is to preserve the body’s energy resources, which is the process of saving energy and building it up again similar to the phenomenon of charging a battery”. To that end, dreams tend to orbit around day-to-day events, whilst “replaying” actions and solidifying memories and learning. With that people therefore sleep to process information that has been accomplished during the day. Plus, tasks that have been learned all along the day, after a good night’s sleep have shown an improvement in their performance in the next day and of course way better than after a night with no sleep so leads that sleep allows the brain to prepare for the next day. Over and above, sleep withdrawal has a serious impact on reducing attention and short-term memory, this also has a role in what gets saved as a long-term memories. Effectively, sleep helps both the conversion of a short-term memory into long-term one and the reconsolidation of existing long-term memories. Thus, sleep helps cement the things we have learned during the day into long-term memory.
