The article “Six things I’d like to do before I die”, taken from “The Onion”, is written by Jean Teasdale. The headline foreshadows its main idea that everybody has some unrealized wishes in the bottom of his heart, no matter how rich and diverse one’s life is. At the beginning of the story the author recalls some achievements of her own. The basic part of the article is composed of describing of her six before-death-wishes, which Mrs. Teasdale accompanies with witty and ironic commentaries. The first thing for her is visiting chocolate factory to enjoy plenty of chocolate in different ways. The second thing to do is wearing low-wasted jeans instead of elastic band(ed) ones. Then go such aims as getting in contact with dolphins, marring her husband one more time in a more romantic way, saving a celebrity’s life and finally she wishes not to long for things beyond the reach. At the end of the article the author makes a conclusion that in fact there are many more than six unrealized wishes. It should be mentioned that Mrs. Teasdale widely uses different means of expressiveness. Paraphrase of “death” are the most frequent, may be in order to avoid sadness and irrevocability of this word. Coming back to our main topic I should think over six my own before-death-wishes and honestly saying it puts me to confusion. I see distinctly the last day of my life – hand by hand with my husband, we are very aged, wrinkled and surrounded with our numerous children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. So, what should I do to reach this before I put on my white slippers ( I just try to follow the author’s style)? I want to live my life worthy above all. So let it be the first (and the main) goal in my life. Secondly, I and my husband still don’t marry in church.
