Associate Level Material Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet Part 1 For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions. Physical health: I would describe my physical health as average. I am able to do all my daily activities, but I do not do physical exercise daily. I do not often get sick. Social health: I believe I am perfectly healthy in this dimension. I love to socialize with other people and do so on a daily basis. Intellectual health: My intellectual health is also used daily. I enjoy taking challenges and solving them, and I find it easy to do so. Environmental health: I restrict my car use to a minimum and recycle. Emotional health: My emotional health varies with the people who I am around. If I am comfortable with the person and know them, I will have high self-esteem and self-confidence. If I don’t know the person, my self-esteem and self-confidence lowers. Spiritual health: I believe that while we are all part of a greater existence, we are not really here for a sole purpose. Part 2 In approximately 125 to 200 words, describe health and wellness in your own words using the ideas and concepts for each of the six dimensions of health. Health is taking a positive outlook on life through each of the six dimensions. Health is also your body’s ability to fight off illnesses. Physical health is how your body functions, how physically fit you are, and your ability to perform activities of daily living.
