* Atticus- He is disgusted by the way he dies and says he thought he had hope in the case and did everything he did but this way all just ‘hope’. * Calpurnia-she is disappointed with the results. She kindly provides Atticus with all the food that is brought to him by the appreciative African-American community. * Helen Robinson- she reacts to Tom Robinson's death by being extremely upset about it. Atticus Finch is the one to go to her door and approach her with the bad news. After, Atticus tells Hellen the news, she is extremely upset and starts to cry. * Black community- The black community was in shock from the decision, after everything Atticus did. They knew he was innocent and this made it an even bigger tragedy. * White community- Most of the people in Maycomb think that Tom's death just shows how stupid black people are and show excitement. They say that it shows black people have no patience or discipline and Tom deserved it. * Mr Underwood-. Mr. Underwood writes in the paper that Tom's death was "like the senseless slaughter of songbirds." Miss Gates talks about how Hitler is evil for killing all the Jews, and how being prejudiced against someone for their religion is wrong, yet she is racist against black people. So, she is a hypocrite for saying it is wrong to judge someone by their religion, but it’s ok to judge black people for their colour. Her ideas are widely the same as the people of Maycomb making it a racist and hypocritical community. 33. Bob Ewell attacked and followed Jem and Scout home, he jumped out in front of them but Jem pushed him which then made him fall on his own knife, which then killed him. But later they find that Boo Radley had killed Bob. 34. 35. 36. Atticus doesn’t want Jem to be protected by lies because Atticus is a noble and truthful man and wants the best of everyone, even if that meant Jem being accused and found guilty of the crime, but later it was found that Boo did it. It was Boo who killed Bob as he loved the children and cared about them about and saw the issues in the community and how much it affected them, Sherrif wanted to protect Boo as it is a sin to kill a mockingbird.
