In the novel of Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Siddhartha is called on to the hero’s journey to find enlightment. The novel is about Siddhartha going to the shramanas, the Buddha, samsara, and the river with the ferryman to find the enlightment and find within himself. Like every hero’s journey, he comes across trials and temptations. Before Siddhartha began his journey, he grew up with Brahmins, and already had reached the OM, which is perfection, but within himself, he does not feel that he has reached fully enlightment so that is when his journey begins. He asks his father to leave, but when his father denied him, he silently protested and stood still until his father gave him the permission to become a shramana.

Throughout the story the father has a lot of flashbacks, and his memory's come to life within his son. As he see's his son exploring the fun activities to do on and around the lake, he cant help but see a spiting image of himself as a young boy. E.B. White shows "limitations imposed by time" in the story by the father seeing his young son doing the things he too once did such things before, he cannot do them again because of time. The father has grown be a man, he can no longer jump around and act like a kid again in the lake, for he has lost his young innocence that all children bare.

Huckleberry Finn k who is a young poor white kid and Jim is Miss Watson personal slave. After this, everything goes downhill and they become savages except for Ralph's tribe. After the members of Ralph's tribe get killed, Ralph becomes next in line. At the end, an ironic rescue occurs and the boys become children again. One thing the movie lacks is the boys finding each other when the conch is blown. In the movie the boys come all together on a boat to the island and are familiar with each other.
