Should Internet Porn be Banned? Most of us love the Internet and all convenience it brings, but what happens when you catch your boyfriend, husband, or child exploring their wild side and watching porn on the laptop? Now let’s not forgot porn has been around for many years and the internet just makes it easier to access. Should porn be outlawed on the Internet since there is no way to know how old the user is that is accessing it or should the Internet be considered like any other periodical, which in turn means that every artist should have equal access to publishing their works if they have the resources and the demand is there? I personally believe in equal rights to all artists as long as they are not breaking the law. Therefore if the porn does not involve animals or underage participants for example I do not believe we can forbade them from using any outlet that any other “artist” is allowed to use, please note I use the term artist loosely however that’s how people in the adult industry coin their work. While they have the right to use this outlet and express themselves as they see fit, there should be more restrictions on place to ensure that under age children or not accessing these inappropriate sites and the people that are violating the law with child porn for example can be prosecuted. As far as preventing underage children from watching porn and illegal porn being published on the web, what can be done? One big problem is our technology is advancing faster than our laws, and because people all over the world view the internet how would we prosecute the people that do break the laws? It gets complicated because the web crosses many state lines and jurisdictions as far as the law been broken; we have such a long way to go as far as laws. As far as age it should be the responsibility of the owner of the website to use reasonable measurements
