Some of the seniors said “that they would actually come to school and not get signed out early.” On the other hand teachers and maybe even some parents wouldn’t be happy with this situation. Why? Because teachers wouldn’t get pay as much as they do now, it would be less. Some parents would not want to have their kids at home all the time; they would like to have some free time by themselves. Starting school at 11:30 in the morning would be great.
Studies have shown that homework for elementary – high school should not have homework but work on some special project or reading at home after school for only a satin amount of time depending on what grade the student is in like forty minutes to two hours a day after school. Studies also show that homework can be more harmful then help full to students as they grow up. Studies show that students going to school all morning and afternoon doing work then coming home to do even more work will make them very over worked and make them lazy and they would not wont
Julia Hall February 15, 2011 Group D In this essay there is a debate on a longer school day or homework. I believe students should have a longer school day instead of homework. The main topics in this essay is what the students can do during the day without homework, what the parents can do and what the teachers in the school building can do if their wasnt any homework. Ever want to know what the feeling is like to not think about homework when you get home? One reason i think a longer school day is better than having homework is because students can work harder on trying to do their work and not rush through it to get it over with so they won't have to do it for homework.
It is inevitable to think that during this economy recession a four days school week could be a cost saving measure; however, it is a big mistake to take away one day of school since it will affects parents, child, staff and the country in many different ways. Gregory A Shmidt’s essay, “We Like the Four-Day Week”, explains how the switch to a four days schedule could be beneficial for the staff, students and budget savings. But, he didn’t mention how that system will affect parents’ pockets. U.S.A Today editorial board questions how reducing one day of school will be a saving if parents will be spending more on day care “what about the family cost of day care for a child home alone on a weekday?” (307). In fact, parents regularly work five days a week leaving their kids in school for those days.
SCHOOL TO START LATE One of the problems with schools is it just starts to early, 8:45am is the wrong time to start. Our brains as teenagers don’t work as well in the morning as they do later on, it’s almost like the first two sessions of the day are a waste of time, ours brains don’t soak it all in. I think school needs to start later on in the day. People need to realise young people deserve to learn at there best. Studies have shown that young people brains work better in the afternoon even in the night.
At first, it was hard for me to work because for me, Saturday should be my rest day, but I still needed to wake up early and do the things that my mom asked me to do. She taught me how to do the stuffs that she usually does so that I could do it as smoothly as possible. Since, it was my first time to experience working at a young age, I had a hard time calculating and arranging the paper works my mom had me to do. Every time I think about the things she is letting me do is hard, it goes back to me and I remember the things she did for me. So another thing I can relate to politics in this example is the proper etiquette a person should have.
It may be convenient to the teachers too, they will have more rest after all the work during the day, and teachers happy and in a better mood will leave you less homework and the teaching techniques could involve more learning, more projects because you have energy. But the don’ts are that the will need to study harder because the time of each class will not be enough to concentrate in class, and may need to get some homework at home. And the student will be more lazy because of that privilege. The necessity to go bed early, it will not be funny for the people like me, who likes to watch scary movies at
These include a 60-day on and 20 off and 90 days in class and 30 days out. Arguments in favor of year-round school There are a few individuals who argue for a year-round school system of some form. Proponents of increasing the actual time see it as a means of keeping up with the rest of the world. The lack of skills in math and science in particular when compared with much of the world is seen as detrimental and the result of too little time spent learning. An increase in actual total class time is perceived as a means of decreasing the amount of time
Would you rather have a time to do work because you have practice after school or have PE class? Well today there are many students’ grades suffering because they have no time after school to do their homework, which is a good reason for those students to replace their PE class with a study hall to do their homework. So student athletes should not have to do PE because they need time to do their homework, they can get injured in PE class and not be able to play and you already get enough exercise from sports. First of all, student athletes need extra time to do their homework because of having to leave early for games, getting home late from games and having at least two or more hours of homework. So giving them extra time to do their homework in school would increase the advantages of having their homework done.
Homework can be considered as the out of class tasks that a student is assigned as an extension of classroom work. Well, in the 21st century, increasing amount of the homework seems so common in every school. Many students claim that it is not really work for improving their studies by doing homework but some do. So here is the question, does homework give us advantages or disadvantages? First of all, homework will diminish the amount of time that a child can spend on the other activities such as sports, family time and leisure that can make them feel free and relaxed from school.
