It just advices women to use the hijab as an act of obedience to God. Secondly, women wearing hijabs become a very visible sign of Islam. While Muslim men can blend easily into any society, Muslim women are often put on the line and forced to defend not only their decision or not to cover their bodies but also their religion. Thirdly, women who use the hijab lose their identity as women because they cannot dress appropriately according to their gender. It is not certain that the hijab frees women from being seen as sexual objects of desire or from being valued for their looks or body shape.
This is just one example of the way men misuse texts in the Koran to justify the repression of women. This also shows how women are not told of the dangers in this because they are just women who don’t need to be educated. The only thing the doctors who try to help these women can do is tell them the dangers against genital mutilation and proceed with the surgery even if they decide to go through with it. After generations of this practice, many women were taught to believe it made you more beautiful and kept you from becoming a prostitute. The more knowledge gained of genital mutilation led to different reasons of have the procedure done, such as “keeping their daughter’s chastity” (37).
* In many of the Muslim countries, it is not only the woman who have barely any rights, but also the men are treated the same. It is not the religion to which treats women unfairly , but it is the government oppression of men. * People are under the idea that Islam teachings do encourage the oppression of woman, but in fact the teachings of Muhammad enforce men to respect the rights of women. * The Qur’an states ‘woman shall have rights similar to those of men’. But in the west this statement is misinterpreted which shows specific issues and differences.
some people would say the the reiligion is offensive and opressive towards women. some would say that the religion is even slave like towards women. however the women and men that particepate in the islamic religion would say that islam for women has been viewed wrong and that actually egalitaran, specially on its veiws about the sexs. some of the islamic followers would say more than Judaism and or Christianity. conventional veiws suggest that the west sees women of islam as a opressive object instead of a counterpart , in the islamic movement.
Imagine what is it like to be face to face with a woman wearing a Burqa. The first, most important, reason to ban the Burqa is that Islamic people are allowed to wear a full masked dress which prevents people from seeing their faces or foreseeing dangers that could be hidden by them such as bombs or weapons. The masked dress should not be allowed to be worn in public as many people are frightened by the person wearing the Burqa. Some people automatically think that when they see the Burqa it implies that they are associated with suicidal attackers. Another reason is the dress impairs vision when driving as the driver is not able to see what is happening around them and could cause a massive road collision on a motorway or a small crash on a farm road.
Islam: Muslim in America Yosmaira De Leon Devry University Professor Peter Conis Does being different makes me less? Would I suffer for being born into a hated religion? What does freedom of religion means? Islam is a world religion that has been widely misunderstood amongst the general population. There are more misconceptions around Islam then there is understanding.
They may wonder about the concept of their dress code and may wonder where their dress code plays in their religion. These are a few questions a person from a different religious background may ask. Some believe that Muslim women are forced to dress that way. They tend to believe the men force the Muslim women to dress hide their bodies. This opinion is made due to the ignorance of the Muslim religion.
But if he is a muslims, people called him ‘a terrorist’??? When a Jew grows his beard, he is doing it in other to practice his faith But the hell when a Muslim does the same, he is called the extremist and terrorist? When a nun covered from head to toe, she is doing it in order to devote herself to God. But when a Muslim girl does the same, when is she been oppressed (treated cruel and unfair)? When a western woman stays at home to look after her house and kids, she is respected by the entire society because of of sacrificing her life to her house.
But some people with the entrenched mindsets make religion an excuse to prevent driving .It does not say any thing in Qur’an about that . So religion can not be blamed for women’s lack of rights . The Qur’an does order us to do things . One example for that , is wearing a costume for the women to cover her against foreigners and that is called an Abaya . This costume ( Abaya ) has been known from long time in the Islamic world .
