The nurses said the visitor had a handgun in her purse when she was visiting the patient. When the visitor left the hospital room, the patient, who was completely disoriented, went into the purse and shot the gun. It’s a very big debate on whether guns should be allowed in a hospital or not. In my opinion, why do we want people who are carrying concealed weapons in our hospitals? In Florida, it’s against the law to carry a gun into a school, an athletic event, a jail, a police station or a local government meeting, but not with hospitals, where it remains perfectly legal to carry a weapon (Carter, R., 2002).
The Leadership standard also was not met due to staffing insufficiencies. 3.a. There is a link between the amount of staff and their experience with the kind of care and how safe that care is being provided to patients. The organization has failed to respond to the need for more medical staff which in turn has led to the demise of the conditions of the working
There is a meeting held for all the doctors and nurses where the directors enforces new regulations on the supplies doctors can use on patients. The hospital’s staff is required to account for everything they use like a thermometer or even just a towel. The director threatens the doctors that if there is extra missing, that will be deducted from the departments operating budget. The insensitivity that is shown is disgraceful and it is all because the bureaucrats’ only priority is getting the most “bang for your buck”. The administrators even go as far as to not keep medical records.

When the attendants were shown photographs, they easily picked out Chris Wilder as the man with her. Beth’s car was subsequently found at Miami International Airport. Yet she had not packed to go anywhere. The police would not help with what was still a missing persons case, so Bill Kenyon staked out Wilders house himself. When he did not find the man at home, he sent his investigator to the Boynton Beach Police to ask about Wilder.
Amputation Nightmare Angie Simpson, RN HCS 478 November 4, 2013 Fran Mieczowski Amputation Nightmare It would be a nightmare to wake up from surgery with the wrong limb amputated or the wrong surgery performed. This is exactly what happened to Joseph Benson. He went into the hospital for surgery for amputation of his left leg just below the knee. When he woke up from surgery he awakened to find out his right leg had been amputated instead. The hospital has not officially commented on this but has had other issues recently from “nursing shortages and union problems” (Lowel, 2013).
John Doe Teacher English 111 1/20/13 My First Time Getting Pulled Over “Ma’am, license and registration please,” the officer asked. My whole body went numb; it was like I was having an out of body experience. After a couple seconds I slowly got feeling back and realized I better do what he says. Reaching back into my car my hands were shaking tremendously, noticing my fingers didn’t quite have feeling in them yet. I was fumbling through my purse trying to find my license, and then though my glove box for my registration, it felt like it took forever.
I got out again and examine if the engine had any errors. It was fine. I became nervous because I had blocked one lane of the street. Many cars passed by, and I thought some of them may call the police to help clear my car. My friend asked me what we should do, but at that time I was out of my mind.
But can be so harmful and lead to unwanted ER visits. Introduction: An ambulance is the last form of transportation that you want to use when leaving work. But for me that day seems still like a blur. All I seen was paramedics all around asking me if I could hear them. I had never heard of the words “Caffeine Overdose” So you ask how much caffeine I took?
It only takes a moment for a car to drift into another lane or off of the road and cause an accident. While some people are able to multitask, use a mobile phone, and drive at the same time, others cannot. When the focus is not on driving, speed limits are not honored, along with other driving duties, which can make other drivers aggressive. When receiving negative news on the mobile phone, it could cause someone to lose control of the vehicle. One young lady in the community was on her way to work, her mobile phone had fell in the passenger floor board, the phone rang, she reached down to get it, eyes off of the road for one second, she left the road, was thrown from her car, pinned against a tree, and is paralyzed from the waist down.
