Some of my family came to America from Guyana with close to nothing, but over time through hard work, ambition, and patience they were able to support the younger generations of us. They made sure we had the opportunities that they did not have when they were growing up. Just making sure my family could make it to this country is a big part of the reason why we can now live and prosper in peace. This is why I would like to work for the federal government and give directly back to this country and help to make it a better place and stronger
A democracy is supposed to be a government based on respecting basic human rights, which includes free choices. Some would say that having this mandatory voting law may go against our
While theft and low income consumers bring the possibility of providing only moderate revenue gains, if not a loss, operating in impoverished areas can also be a source of growing potential for the business. Many companies advertise philanthropic missions, such as donating to charities every year or helping to provide for the families of their employees. While these are messages that consumers hear, a more powerful message can be the one that the consumers themselves see. Rather than closing down those stores, Company Q should focus on the reasons for the high crime, and offer ways to reduce that crime rate. Offering work programs that help prepare young people for management or skilled positions is a good way to take crime off of the streets while showing to the community that the business cares about the welfare of the population.
The exposure from a young age can have great impact on children’s lives and it certainly worked for the three men today. She told them that poverty and other factors should not dissuade them from attending college. As well, she stressed life outside of Newark. Be it discounted Broadway tickets and a trip to New York City or souvenirs accrued from her own travels, she showed that there was a world that did not just deal in the realm of
I would support the Dream Act, At least it gives the minors a chance to make it right and follow the law and get on the right path of following legalization here in the U.S. If we don’t give them a path to citizenship we will be dealing with a bigger issue of employers still hiring illegal immigrants and we will have more immigrants not paying taxes and will exploit the system. They come to the U.S. for a better life than their country could provide. So why are we making it impossible for their children to go in
However, they should think this way that they came to United States when they were under 10 years of age. It’s not their fault, so they should not be punished. The DREAM Act provides opportunities to these children, to prove them and show that they are capable of doing many things. The DREAM not only allows these children to attend school and gain legal status, but also benefits the economy of the nation. When these children grow up and graduate their college with a degree in their hand, they will get into good jobs.
This could help you to get your college degree a lot easier and with no payment issues. You also get free health care for you and in your family, so if something happens to you or your family the Marines will take care of it without you having to pay all those hospital bills. After you serve at least twenty years in the Marines you are guaranteed 50% of your paycheck. So getting older may not sound like a bad idea, plus you can retire at the age of 38 if you wanted to. One thing the Marines have a lot of is job positions; they range from Infantry, Aviation, Electrical Technicians, Instructors, vehicle operators, band instruments, color guard, and even cooks.
PUERTO RICANS SHOULD CONSIDER STATEHOOD November 12, 2013 Puerto Rican Statehood As American Citizens we never consider the idea that we may have limitations on our rights and privileges. It never crosses our mind that there could be things we are not allowed to do even though we have citizenship in a free republic. This is not true for the inhabitants and American citizens that are natives of Puerto Rico. Although naturalizes citizens at birth they do not hold the same rights of their counterparts living in the United States. They are not given a voice in who is to be their Commander and Chief.
People can take advantage of this free college, taxes can be raised, and it can take more time for employees, but there is a way you can fix all of the problems. To be able to have free community college, there should be restrictions against it. If a student doesn’t have a 3.0 grade point average, or if as student doesn’t have a 18 or higher on their ACT, if the attendance is below 95%, and a high school diploma. if there requirements aren’t met, then you shouldn’t allow free community college to that particular person. In conclusion, I believe free community college should be allowed.
Relating to that, if they are already breaking the law by being here, so there is no reason for them to obey other laws. Legal immigrants, especially those who plan to stay permanently, must pay taxes and are more likely to attend school to learn academic subjects such as English, and a trade skill. Since they can be open about who they are, they are more likely to try to be like other Americans and adopt American culture. Lastly, they can eventually earn the right to vote and participate in our political process, meaning they can develop a decision-making stake in the future of our country. After all this, their ultimate goal can be completed of living a better life as a true American citizen.
