Travelling around the world has always been a popular activity, sometimes they travel and stay in the foreign country for a lengthy period of time for various reasons such as working or studying. It is not a rare occasion where these people have children that were born in the host country, the foreign country the parents moved to. Some may argue whether or not these children should get the host country’s passport and have the same rights as the locals, citizenship rights, regardless of what their parents’ nationality is, or if a passport and citizenship rights are exclusive for those children whose parents are a citizen. Although people may argue differently, these children should get the host country’s passport and full citizenship rights. The children who were born and raised in this host country should be considered as part of the country because just like the locals, they were born and raised and some call this host country their home, and they deserve the same rights and benefits the locals get. Benefits such as healthcare and education rights should be given to these children. In return, these children could get involved in the country’s economy and in serving the country. For example, in Singapore or South Korea, every male citizen should do a year or two of serving the country by going to military service. This way, it benefits both side, the children would get the benefits locals have, such as cheaper education and the country would have more people serving them. Different countries have different laws and policies regarding citizenship right.
