My Short Term & Long Term Goals I create short term & long term goals for myself to keep structure in my life. My short term goals are to succeed academically, to quit smoking Cigarettes & to find employment. These are goals I intend to achieve in 3 to 6 months. My long term goals are to embrace my dream career as a child psychiatrist, to own my own home & to meet a positive companion. These are goals I intend to achieve in the next couple of years. In order to succeed academically I have to stay focused at home & in school. By managing how much television I watch per day & limiting how often I hangout , it will give me more time to study & increase my chances of receiving all my credits & passing each semester. Completing my homework without procrastinating & using my resources such as my professors when I need help are methods I use to accomplish this short term goal. Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body & decreases a persons overall health as seen in almost every tobacco commercials. Millions of Americans have health problems caused by smoking cigarettes. Quitting smoking cigarettes is another one of my short term goals. I’ve been smoking since I was 15 years old & I have yet to see the damaging results every article & commercial warns us about. Although I am blessed enough to be in good health, I know if I continue to smoke it will harm me in the future. I have a 4 year old son who I need to be here for, watch grown & stay in good health for. Smoking is also very expensive so quitting wont only save my life, it will also save me money. No matter your age smokers can tremendously decrease their risk of diseases, including cancer by quitting smoking cigarettes sooner than later.
