Shopping For Your Daily Bread Ivana Carmon Mid-Continent University Shopping For Your Daily Bread Sentence Outline Thesis Statement: Today when you shop you must decide where you want to go buy something as simple as a loaf of bread, taking into consideration how long you have to shop, how far you want to go and how much you want to pay. I. The fastest way to pick up a loaf of bread is to stop at the local convenience store. A. They are a quick in and out on your way home 1. They are usually located on the highway on the way home. 2. They have small parking lots, so no long walk into the store. B. They are small stores and things are easy to find. 1. They don’t carry a lot of brands and prices are higher. 2. There are usually no lines at the checkout and you are finished fast. II. The next place to stop for bread is at a local supermarket. A. Supermarkets are usually only located in a shopping district. 1. There may be only one or two supermarkets in a town. 2. Shoppers may have to search for a parking spot and walk some distance to the store. B. Supermarkets are large and items are in categories. 1. Locations of items are not always easy to find, but have a large selection of items. 2. Patrons have to fight long checkout lines. III. Another choice for a bread purchase is a warehouse box store or club. A. Warehouse stores are usually located in larger towns and cities. 1. A consumer may have to drive an hour to visit one. 2. Parking lots are usually crowded and may even have to wait for a space. B. Warehouse stores are very large, usually hundreds of thousand square feet. 1.
