Admissions Committee, Being born and raised in Shippensburg I have always wanted to attend Shippensburg University. While in elementary school I was diagnosed with dyslexia and a slight learning disability. During high school and since graduation I have been employed at Penn Hall nursing center in the dietary department. I enjoy helping the residents with small tasks such as pushing wheelchairs to and from the dining room area for meals. When talking to them they often ask what my future plans are and I always reply I hope to attend Shippensburg University and major in Business Management/ Accounting. While in school I played soccer, basketball and bowling but spent my free time with friends enjoying video games. I have a younger sister who I spend time helping out with homework and trying to peak her interest in learning. I feel I am a good candidate to attend your school because I can offer my heart and determination and hopefully show teachers and students alike that just because a person has a disability doesn't mean they can't excel and achieve anything they put their heart
