What life lessons has dance taught you? Dance has taught me that you can never give up on your dreams, even if they seem unattainable because one day, your dreams may come true. Dance has also taught me to strive for greatness in all that I
From my opinion this movie over a whole was great. Real reactions to real situation’s. It kept me interested with the kid’s witty banter towards their dance class as well as everything around them. To some people dance is just a hobby but to some of these kids it’s their dream to become a famous dancer, they would prefer this for their career when they grow up. Honestly my favorite part of the documentary would be when
In the video, the dance looked like it was very easy to execute but having already been in the technique class all year, it is amazing to know that doing the movements correctly is actually difficult. May O’Donnell constructs her pieces with the use of spacial structure. She organizes her dancers so that different groups are spread out differently throughout the stage and at times she uses all dancers in one singular spacial structure, like a diagonal. She changes the organization on stage frequently so that the audience would be constantly captivated by the rapid action on stage. She also uses many other choreographic tools to keep the attention of the audience and bring contrast to her piece.
The friendship between the dancers backstage immediately establishes that these people belong together through their love for dance. The spotlight scene is important as it highlights Scott’s sense of not belonging. The voice over in this scene reinforces the steps that don’t belong
Suggestions for Improvement – Variables that might have influenced the outcome of my experiment were how fast or vigorous a person was dancing compared to another, someone’s motivation to squeeze the clothes pin more than others, and the amount of time each person rested before squeezing clothes pins for the first time. Suggestions for Further Research – My suggestions for other investigations that could be done to further support my findings or to answer any new questions that came up during this experiment are to warily time the amount of time the tested students were resting before squeezing the clothes pins and to have all ten students dance in the same way and pace as everyone else to have more control in this
20. Nonna’s secret is that Christina’s father is actually Marcus Sanford, at this point in the movie; all the secrets have been told. 21. “National Wog Day” at the end of the movie is more upbeat and different because Josie is happy and invites Jacob and her friends to attend with her; this shows that she has embraced her culture. When she puts on the music and starts dancing, it shows she is happy.
I am here to stay! All the experiences I’ve had with Ms. Melinda have been fun, challenging and thrilling! I’ve always had so much fun in my dance classes! It’s just the right place for me to have fun and let go. I really need that now as I’m in high school and there are more challenges than before.
It added emphasis to the music; it was used as reinforcement. There were parts where the female dancers would take the stage. They did very pretty formations. The music stopped for couple of 8 counts and during this time the dancers were still dancing, but all you would be able to hear was the sounds of the rattles on their legs. It made the music to which they were dancing, the music sounded so peaceful but at the same time it really went with the music that had been playing.
There are many different meanings for the term team player one is “A person who plays or works well as a member of a team or group.” Although I knew the real definition of this word, I had to find out my own definition to have a better understanding of this meaning. When learning how to be a team player your mind, soul, and body have to be open to open to learning how to adjust and learn a different way of acting. My first personal experience learning how to be a team player happened in middle school, 7th grade to be exact. I joined a local dance performing company where I surpassed a lot of other students in jazz, hip hop, and ballet. In every dance performance are company had I excelled and was pushed to the front, in doing that, I became big-headed and thought I was the best and that no one could tell me anything.
King Say Show Must Go On When I was a little girl I loved watching one musical on VHS. It was because of this one part, and eventually my VCR ate the tape because I fast-forwarded one time too many. It was the Siamese ballet called “Small House of Uncle Thomas” that sparked my attention. The dancing enthralled me. I loved Poor Little Eva, King Simon, Little Topsy, and Geoooo-rge!.
