Sexual Assault Definition of sexual assault Sexual assault is when someone touches another person’s body in a sexual manner without their consent. * Rape- an assault by a person involving sexual intercourse with another person without that person's consent * Attempted rape- a failed attempt to force sexual intercourse with someone without their consent * Child sexual abuse- a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation * Elderly sexual assault- victimization of persons over the age of 60, most of whom suffer from decreased functionality, frailty, and weakness and therefore are reliant on caretakers * Sexual harassment- intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors * Groping- touching or fondling of another person in a sexual way (including through clothing), using the hands, without that other person's consent The Criminal Code (1)It’s assault when: * (a) Without consent of another person, they apply force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly. * (b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or gesture, to apply force to another person, if he/she has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he/she has present ability to effect his/her purpose; or * (c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs (2)This section applies to all forms of assault, including sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a third party or causing bodily harm and aggravated sexual assault. * Obtained where the complaint submits or does not resist by reason of the application of force to the complainant or to a person other that the complainant; * (b) threats or fear of the
