SEVEN Producer –William C.Gerrity And Arnold Kopelson, Phyllis Carlyle This movie is based on the seven deadly sins, in case you are not familiar with them they are: PRIDE: which is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity. ENVY: This is the desire for others’ traits, status, abilities, or situation. GLUTTONY: This is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires LUST: This is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. ANGER: This is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath. GREED: This is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness. SLOTH: This is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. In the movie it involves a veteran cop, Detective William Summerset, who is about to retire, and Detective David Mills, who breaks in his replacement. At first they don’t like each other but between his wife befriending Summerset and then they both become partners in the serial killer investigation they became friends. This twisted Serial killer chooses his victims from a person who fits one of each of the seven deadly sins, as he sees himself as doing the work of god dispensing judgment on these sinners. As the movie goes on David and summerset believes this killer has schizophrenia as he continues to kill. At the end after the killer who called himself John Doe turned himself in still had two more sins to complete, but John Doe tells David he already finished his work so John Doe tells David I will show you where the last two bodies are and if you don’t take me and do as I say then I will plead insanity and you won’t
