He prefers to use the word scavenger rather than dumpster because it is “honorable” according to him. However, he became dumpster even though he was not homeless. His explanation to this situation is that he spent almost all his income into a rentable cabin when he was living with Lizbeth on Avenue B. Lars reaches his fundamental needs from Dumpsters such as clothes, boom boxes, candles, bedding, toilet paper, a virgin male love doll, medicine, books, a typewriter, dishes, furnishings and often some dollars. From training to training he became expert on Dumpster diving. Because, he “learned much as a scavenger” he knows how to differentiate good things from bad things in a dumpster (pars.
They seem to be a group of caring people that want help others not suffer needlessly with Celiac Disease. I really learned a lot from the group not only about the disease, but how it affects these people’s daily lives. There is nothing like learning things first hand from real people talking about a disease they have and how it affects them personally. It is much more meaningful than a textbook. I would try to find broader ways to reach the public by having gluten-free events and giving samples of gluten-free food at the Neighborhood Co-op Grocery Store.
Thankfully, Company Q doesn't need to expend much in the way of financial or employee effort to make a considerable difference in our store neighborhood community respect. One delivery van can be used to pick-up the product that would otherwise be thrown away at the end of the workday and transported by the store's supervisor to the local food bank. The food would be unloaded by food bank staff while the Company Q supervisor could discuss with the food bank managers the impact that those donations will have on the community. The marginal time spent loading and travelling to the local food bank is a minor inconvenience for the storeowner at worst and a major public relations benefit for not only the local store but also Company Q in general. We could also expect a reduction in our waste removal services since less product will be thrown
They did not have to go to the extent of disrespecting the prostitute and the young gentleman. Throughout the documentary, I was impressed how some of the society was taking action to help people who could not afford to eat on a regular basis. It was great to see how the food bank contributed to giving groceries to the less fortunate. Also, It was great to see that the church was generous enough to offer some basic health care, for instance, a woman massaging a man’s foot. It is also great that they used the church pews for a place for homeless people to sleep, so they would not freeze outside.
By coordinating with other businesses many people that are without food can be helped. Finally, I would love to be able to offer a partnership with an organization like United Way or the Red Cross and work with them to fill other community needs like cleaning up parks or creating play grounds for families. Offering my employees the opportunity to also partner with these organizations would create more unity within my restaurant without putting pressure on anyone that might not want to volunteer. Also these partnership would allow any of my employees that might be in need of assistance from this organizations to have access for friends, family or for
Pass 5: describe how anti-discriminatory practice is promoted in health and social care settings. Equal opportunities: Equal opportunities is not necessarily treating everybody the same, it more about treating people differently so that they are able to have the same amount of opportunities and to all be treated with dignity and respect. An example of this would be, if you work at a care home and you was caring for someone and you assisting them when trying to feed them and they carry on eating themselves. However, if someone else is unable to feed themselves then you are obliged to help them eat their lunch. So you are giving them both the equal opportunity to eat and have lunch.

I think it’s good that the government has a way to help people in need. I think it’s good but at the same time people who need it take advantage of it. Food stamps are really a good way to help those who are unable to provide for themselves. But some people may just begin to take advantage of them and use them for things that are unnecessary. I remember a story my mom told to me.
That very man I helped before was still there asking for help. I smiled at him as I walk into the store and this time I decided to not pick up anything for the homeless man. Instead I grabbed a few things to make dinner with and I worked my way to the register I noticed the same old lady who rung me out last time as I approached the register and begin placing my things on the conveyer belt the she smiles at me and rings my items through. Before I pull out my wallet, she asks me why I handed over the groceries to the man. I told her that I was simply trying to help someone out when they were in need.
Am I a good communicator? In my own opinion I am a not a great or good communicator but I do alright with being heard and getting my point across. Whenever something is bothering me I am quick to go to the source of the problem to have the issue resolved, whether it is a person, place or thing. For example; when my kids are having an issue in school or home and they come to me about it. I allow them to talk to find out all the details before asking them questions and allowing them to respond.
