David Greenburg argues that, "presidents are never able to meet" the expectations of transformative change (Canon 221). These expectations are created during campaigns in order for a candidate to win over voters, however many always disappoint. Greenburg believes the expectations and promises made by presidents in our time are far too complicated to reach and to summarize it: no president, from now on, will ever have the chance to be transformational. On the contrary, Richard Lowry and Ramesh Ponnuru view Obama as transformational, but in a negative way. They say, "Obama is the first president to explicitly reject the notion of American exceptionalism--the idea that the United States is historically unique and has always differed from other democracies (Canon 222)."
The Tea Party movement believes no American President, Democrat, nor Republican should ever go beyond the Constitution, regardless of the issue at hand. Neither person nor issue can ever precede the Constitution, because it is the basis of the American people and their rights. They claim the government has become too powerful, and have lost connection with the American people that they are supposed to represent. Ideologically, the Tea Party movement believes in complete freedom and individual rights because freedom is what this country is based upon, and without freedom our country is restricted and American people and society as a whole will not be able to grow. They have received hateful ridicule from many socialists and leftists but the Tea Party has stood their post and will not stop despite any criticism.
The important things today are which party has at the moment the right promises for the single voter and which party is better in delivering policy goals. To conclude I would say that neither Partisan Alignment nor party allegiance related to class is what convinces the electorate of the presence. For sure both of these factors are still there in the voting behavior of the United Kingdom but very rare. The modern, educated and open-minded voters do not want to be related to a party because of their social class, they want to decide completely uninfluenced by social factors which party they vote
Most people have a basic understanding of obedience; however, many may fail to see the application and the impact of it in their own lives and in our society. Submission into conformity discourages the type of independence that is valued in our supposedly free-thinking world. Censorship is one of the major themes in Fahrenheit 451, and its impact is illustrated through submission in appearance, behavior and thought. This invites us to draw clear relationships between Ray Bradbury‘s novel and our current society. The association between appearance and social acceptance is already apparent in our lives.
Cultural relativism is the idea that the moral principles someone has are solely determined by the culture one lives in. These ideas seem to make sense because we as a culture understand that the judgments people make in a different culture will differ from ours whether we choose to support it or not. Our culture has different moral judgments as well and does not look at something like killing someone for stealing as morally right since our culture values human life above theft. Cultural relativism does not exist because some principles are universal and not relative only to culture. People also have the ability to think morally for themselves so morality is relative to someone’s point of view.
It may be that you do not challenge discrimination often, that you do not feel that can challenge discrimination or that you do not recognise discrimination when it occurs around you. It might also be that you are afraid to challenge discrimination for some reason, or that you do not believe there is value in equal opportunities. Whatever the case, it is time you realise that discrimination against anyone hurts everyone. Until every person is guaranteed equality, no one is. Think on this the next time you observe discrimination taking place and ask yourself if you really want to sit back and let it happen.
Going against the majority might lead to exclusion or rejection from the group. This is called normative social influence. Another type of social influence is informational social influence, it is based on our desire to be right. We conform because we don’t know what the correct way to behave is. In this situation, we look to others for information about how to behave.
Citizens bicker, complain, and protest; yet do not vote. Many would probably say, “It is not a legal responsibility to vote, so why should I?” or “My vote does not count and it will not change anything.” For many years, these have been the thoughts of a multitude of people and their reasons why they do not vote. But let us not be brainwashed. Voting is not only a responsibility; it is a duty. Citizens should be encouraged to embrace their citizenship, and not merely as a duty, but as a meaningful opportunity to participate in their own government for the sake of common good and in building the culture of life.
If one person’s happiness comes from something that I don’t believe in, I don’t believe it is my right to tell him/her it’s wrong. I have basic opinions of what I believe in regard to specific groups, like in politics or in faith, but I can’t say that one set of beliefs is the right one. I am not quick to judge others’ worldviews. I know that others think and act differently than me and I am very accepting of that. The things that make us differ from each other are healthy for our society because society is based off of the fact that each person is unique and can attribute something different to make it better.
The MBTI introverted personality type says that introvert type does not get energy from outside. It means an introverted person develops good energy from themselves. Nowadays, many people wish to become a good leader, but many have the preconception that an extroverted personality is required to become good leaders. Moreover they believe introverts have disadvantages in our social activities. However, I believe this misconception distorts the truth because an introverted personality actually qualifies for leadership in our current society.
