Leadership Self Reflection Della Wadlington MGT545X Leadership and Team Development April 28, 2013 Introduction Personality profiles ARE effective in understanding people. Understanding personality types is also essential in an organization because it can be a determining factor when it comes to the placement of the employees as well as with the hiring of employees for a better workforce and with employee interaction and the team activities. Becoming familiar with personality types such as employee attributes, strengths, weaknesses, and work habits can assist in the placement of employees to allow for better production in the workplace. Acknowledging the diversity and differences among people whether employees or potential employees creates better placement and assists in job pairing especially in the team environment. Using this tactic allows management to get the most out of each employee for a better workforce. When an employee is armed with a better understanding of his or her strengths and weaknesses, they are in a better position to find a career that is truly rewarding. The contents in this research paper will explain the attributes and faults of my Keirsey style EFSP. ESFP: The Performer After completing the Keirsey self assessment, I found that my Keirsey type was ESFP (Extrovert, Sensation, Feeling, Perceiving). Being an extravert, I have the need to be sociable and tend to be energized by talking to and working with people which is true for me. Being a person that needs sensation I want facts, trust facts, and remember facts. Sensation people focus on facts and what really happened versus what might have been. I found that I am more of a feeling type person than an intuitive one. Being a person of feeling, I am more personable and use more emotions than the people that are intuitive.
