In addition, I want to be able to use my experience and skills for effort into leading the band through competition season and achieving the goals that our band has set for each year. This position is definitely going to be a learning experience, just by trying-out, but receiving it will be a learning experience as a leader. I think the position will teach me how to gain confidence and learn to speak publicly about my thoughts in a positive way. Personality wise, I think it will teach me to be a better-rounded and speak to everybody in the band and get to know people better. I also think this position will teach me how to balance fun and work time to benefit the band.
An assistant coaching job is more than just a career or a simple job you have to drag your feet to every day. It’s a big step in the direction of an incredibly fulfilling life, as an assistant coach you retain features and skills that can directly effect both the motivation and success of an athletic team. The head coach calls the shots but the assistant coach prepares the bullets. Coaches in todays sport industry are searching for professionalism and leadership. The more the assistant coaches, than more of a successful team you’ll have because of the specific knowledge and experience that each coach holds.
School has always been my main priority and job. I already feel I have accomplished greatness by working as hard as possible in school. Being at the top of my class and having a 4.0 GPA, amazes me. Knowing that I will graduate this year with outstanding achievements makes my family and I proud. Even though getting to where I am now has been hard and stressful, it will and is worth it.
Musashi and Business In the Book of Five Rings, Miyamoto Musashi describes the strategies and principles he used to become a skilled warrior. The tactics Musashi wrote about were not only written for swordsmen and warriors, he also used his book to help benefit everyone. His book illustrated how to be a leader and how to symbolized a pamphlet that In the Miyomoto’s book, translated by Thomas Cleary, Musashi listed the nine rules everyone must live by when learning the science of martial arts. In my journey of becoming a businessman, these rules are important towards my path of success. Every business and businessman can relate to Musashi’s rules to live by, and should incorporate them into their daily lives.
Having financial problems played a factor also in my returning to school. Being a single parent, with no support, I knew that I had to make some drastic changes. I have to joggle so many tasks each day and it can be hard. My family motivates me not to give up on my academic goals because I know it is something I have to do. Additionally, having a better income to support me and my family would be nice.
As one can see, my personal integrity and values have definitely played an important role in my life and professional career. Over the past eight years I have worked at a variety jobs where I could have chosen to pursue the field further but did not for multiple reasons. Lack of adult education and inadequate training and development programs has definitely held me back professionally from positions where I know I would thrive. I’ll never forget the first time I learned of Diane Von Furstenberg’s quote as a young professional struggling to find her career identity. Instantaneously, I felt a sense of relief because I too am a young professional who is struggling to find her way.
Mental Effects of Martial Arts on Children The Eternal Grand Master of Songahm Taekwondo, Haeng Ung Lee, once stated, “A black belt is a white belt who never gave up,” to demonstrate that achieving something like a black belt requires a lot of perseverance. Students who are enrolled in martial arts are instilled with virtues like this. Martial arts has been around for thousands of years and has grown and evolved to adapt with the needs of the world at the time. Also, martial arts benefits children in a positive way by increasing their self-control, self-confidence, respect, among numerous other virtues, and, contrary to popular belief, it actually lessens aggression in children, not increases it. Law (2004) explains in his paper on the Choice Theory that the behavior of all people is driven by their belief that it will fulfill their needs.
I want to be a champion for students who do not get it on the first try, who struggle everyday and still try to do the work. I want to be the encourager for every student that walks through my door. I believe in them, because they are the future masters of the world. This can only be positive. My colleagues and students will remember me as someone who is honest without being unkind and as someone with the greatest respect for diversity.
It can be very hard sometimes to take classes because of the military. It is a 24/7 job and a lot of times we get called in to do something while were in class, but we cannot let this deter us from bettering ourselves through education. Another question that many people ask is “why is education important to us?” especially those of us in the military. I know many people would say, “Well you joined the military so you wouldn’t have to go to school.” That is not entirely true. There are a few individuals who join the military to stay away from school but education should be an important step in everybody’s life path.
The speech Mrs. Holler had given had placed a heavy weight on my shoulders, my schedule was already so difficult, and I didn’t think that I would be able to be successful with a class that required so much devotion. But then I made new friends, sitting with different grade levels, and I started to get more comfortable with the class. But then you switched it up once again. You gave us our group members; you put me in a group with complete strangers, Jacob Biber, Julie Klemz, Katelyn Meeter, Natalie Ambrose, and Kristen Saunders. Ohmigosh, I wanted to run out that door and never come back.
