Kaitlyn Barry English 11 Self improvement plan 4/17/14 I have been reading this book now for some time, called " The Great Gatsby." Let me tell you, I would have never found this book to be as interesting and as joyful to read. Once I got to actually reading the book though, I never wanted to put it down. I had my eyes glued to the book, wondering what would happen next all the time. While reading this book though, I had discovered many different things about the setting, the year the book was written, but mainly about the characters. I learned a lot about the three major characters Jay Gatsby, Nick Carraway, and Daisy Buchanan. Also, I learned more about some of the dilemmas that Nick Carraway has. Lastly, his last dilemma is he has a hard time deciding wether or not he is going to help Daisy when she finds out about Tom. Those are only a few of the dilemmas that Nick faced. I came up with a self improvement plan though to help Nick out with his every day struggles that he faces in his new town. I think that Nick has been over-stressing himself. What Nick needs to realize though is that all of the peer pressure that is going on should not bother him, he shouldn't let it ruin his focus on his work. If he has to work each day, he should be going to bed early, and be home early so that he can be ready for the next day at work , and not worry about wether he is going to be organized or not. As well, as when it comes to Daisy and her finding out about Tom, I would help her out. Only on the time schedule that you have though. Don't go out of your way to try and help Daisy though. I would just calll her here and there just to check up on her to make sure she is okay, but other than that I would just leave it alone and let her come to you.
