It is needed to perform daily activities and to keep bodies in motion. Water can prevent a lot of health related problems from occurring in the present or in the future. There are many reasons why water is the most important daily need. I am for young individuals consuming a lot of water because I believe that they need to drink it to stay healthy. Whether you are a young individual that drinks a lot of water, little, or none at all, you will learn numerous reasons of why you need to consume it every day.
I am a student with a heavy load of classes, however I still plenty of time for myself. But in the past I had spent all that time engaging in pointless activities such as going on facebook or watching television. I can easily read someone’s status update about important news or any type of current event, but those explanations are so brief. The powerful thing about reading is that tools like books and articles actually provide detail and accurate information about almost everything. I cannot hope to read accurate information on my newsfeed.
If all the principles are met on a regular basis with each person then it would mean they would be able to make the most of their lives. If we look at the Somebody Cares programme we can see it is tailored to suit individuals needs. Brian is a double amputee and he has two carers come in daily to get him washed, dressed and his breakfast made for him. Both the carers, Elvis and Kevin have had to learn how to work the equipment that is required to care for him and how to lift and move him correctly. Brian also talks about how he is a Double-Handler which means because of his disability there needs to be 2 carers per visit.
In the case study involving the purchasing and operation issues of Dryden Inks, the purchasing agent, Jane Waterman worked an excessive amount of overtime during her time at the company. Dryden Inks started as a family business and grew along with their competition, which had become much stronger and then developed a pressure regarding their prices. Jane noticed that older methods were being used that didn’t match the demands of their products and most of the company’s orders were on a “rush basis”. She wanted to contribute to the company in a way that would make their day-to-day operations become more productive and efficient. Certain problems in this case are having an outdated and no comprehensive inventory that causes their control system to reflect improper supply amounts.
We also do repetitive activities which involves doing a diary everyday writing about where they are, why they are here, what they have done yesterday and going to do today and also how they are feeling of which they can look back on anytime they are feeling anxious or forgetful, we do such things as brain games like word association and word of the day, I’m now going to give you our weekly plan that we do were you can see the activities we do every day from budgeting their money through to cooking tasks and current affairs and so forth. We also explain to the residents that they should treat all these things as their job so everyone needs to join in as if they were in the community and working and as in a job there will be penalties and they will lose out on doing other things that they enjoy if the work isn’t done just like in a normal job you would lose your wages if you didn’t turn up and here on Maplewood it would be not going to the shop that day or not going on an outing and
Long-term care consists primarily of personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) or instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). ADLs are routine tasks of life, usually considered to include eating, bathing, dressing, getting into and out of bed or a chair, and using the toilet. IADLs are additional activities necessary for independence such as preparing meals, managing medications, and shopping for groceries. Long-term care also may include skilled and therapeutic care to treat and manage chronic conditions. Although the likelihood of needing long-term care rises with age, almost as many people who need such care are under age sixty-five as are above it—5.6 million persons under age sixty-five (including 0.4 million children) and 6.6 million elderly, in roughly 1995.5 About 13 percent (0.1 million nonelderly and 1.5 million elderly in 1996) reside in nursing homes.
I could have taken a year off from school if I wanted, but I took the challenge of gaining many new responsibilities, which help me grow as an adult each day. I have met many new people coming into this school more than I ever thought I would. My teachers are very diverse, and it is a lot of hard work adapting to different teaching habits. One person I can really say that has helped me through all these different obstacles would have to be my friend Maranda. Yes, we have known each other before attending college but this transitioning stage in life has really opened my eyes to my own reality.
In the words of Sut Jhally, “Because we live inside the consumer culture and most of us have done so for most of our lives; it is sometimes difficult to locate the origins of our most cherished values and assumptions. They simply appear to be part of our natural world.” (199). So easily we become submerged into passivity and acceptance, that often times we take what the world presents to us on face value without even giving careful consideration to the meaning ascribed to the values, images and ways of life that we condone. At times, we simply refuse to ask the hard questions and we appear to be contented with the ways in which our world portrays us. Consequently, we view ourselves through the world’s lenses without much thought of whom we are and the implication that representations made in the media have on us.
In order for people to continue on with their daily tasks or life goals, they need to satisfy their most basic needs. My typical day consists of waking up after a full night’s rest, visiting with my mother, grabbing something to eat, and working on homework until it’s time to eat again. As one can see, a typical day for me does kind of follow along with Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Some people, who only know about Maslow’s hierarchy of motivational needs, may think that he believed that a person must completely fulfill all of their needs in one category before being able to move up to higher motivational needs. “A more realistic description of the hierarchy would be in terms of decreasing percentages of satisfaction as we go up the hierarchy of prepotency” (Maslow, 2012, p.202).
I would pay a copious amount of money to go back to days where I didn't have to worry about making money, getting good grades and figure out complex mental and social problems. Unfortunately, nobody has figured out how to make a time machine, so I'm stuck with what I have now. This makes me realize that I haven't even reached the hard part yet. When I'm an adult, I am going to have a whole new set of worries. Debt, a job, and taxes to figure out, for example.
