An abounding amount of us humans know that a book's just a story, told by an author, who’s filling their thoughts on pages. Right? Wrong. A book does more than explain what an author is thinking; it can portray a life, that’s only been revealed to some humanity, by words. The distinguishing book, Secrets of Truth & Beauty, by Megan Frazer expresses an amazing story that countless teenagers can relate too. This unique story, describes the life of the one and only Dara Cohen. Since Dara was just a little girl, she was interested in staring in pageants. From having fun in little county pageants to winning Little Miss Maine, Dara was always the one making people smile. Being a little girl didn’t stop her from making people laugh either. A quote to my best liking was, "How does it feel Dara?" she asked. "It's a whole lot lighter than I thought." Dara said, as a tiara was placed on head. As time went by, Dara stopped concentrating on pageants, but more on food. Which than made her increase weight, and become the person she is now. Meet Dara Cohen, seventeen year old. As bright as a shinning star, Dara earns the best of grades in school, but not the best of population or friends. During one of her English classes, Dara was forced to do a multimedia presentation about something that described her. Of course since Dara's body weight was announced at school, she decided to go through old pictures and videos to make her presentation out of that. During the showing of Dara's project, no one saw it the way she did, which then the teacher, Mr. Fitz decided Dara needed to see the guidance counselor, with her parents. From there, Dara established that she needed to get away from her town, but mainly parents. Later that day, she was looking through the family folder and came to a birth certificate that read, "Rachel Cohen." That's when Dara remembered she had an older sister that
