Associate Level Material Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet Part 1 For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions. Physical health: I am about 60 pounds overweight and have recently started dieting and taking A.C.E. to help me lose some weight and get back on track. Due to the extra weight I’ve been having high blood pressure, which if not put in check can cause drastic problems for my physical health. Social health: I believe social health is necessary for overall health. If I go for more than a few days without texting my friends or seeing anyone I begin to feel alone and depressed. Thankfully my job in retail keeps me social by seeing and speaking with several people on a daily basis. Intellectual health: Intellectual health is persistent throughout your entire life. Every day you will have a success or a failure that you will use to adjust your future life. Years ago my marriage failed and I learned from the mistakes I made during that relationship how to approach future relationships. Same applies to when I attended college in 2004 and dropped out versus attending now and putting for 110% effort. Environmental health: One of the least important dimensions of health to me, but one of the most important to overall society. If everyone shared my belief that it wasn’t important, then years down the road our planet would likely end up barren and toxic. I do not intentionally sabotage the environment but also do not do anything specific to help protect it. Emotional health: I have the hardest time with emotional health, and actually am medicated to help me battle depression, OCD, and bipolar disorder. Without my
