TDA 3.2 Schools as Organisations 1. Know the structure of education from early years to post - compulsory education 1.1 Summarise entitlement and provision for early years education. All children have access to early years provision. From 0 - 5 years the frame-work for learning, development and care, forms the Early Years Foundation Stage, which follows :- * good relationships with children ( emotional security) * providers work closely with the parents/carers ( pass on information ) * plays a very important role in the children’s learning and well being Children aged from 3 years are entitled to 15 hours per week free/funded nursery provision, but children from 0 -3 years may find that they will have to pay some costs. The key focus of this funding is to help very child develop to their full potential, help parents return to work and allow them to make informed choices about their children’s care and their family life. It also supports research showing the on going benefit to children, in particular from the disadvantaged parts of the country, of experiencing good quality childcare in their early years. Different types of early years providers :- Sure Start Centres Sure Start provide many services for families :- * early years education for children * full day care * part time care The early Years education entitlement for 3 - 4 year olds is free and it is for 15 hours per week, but the childcare will cost and will vary so you will need to contact the centre. Nursery Schools Nursery schools provides early learning and care for children aged between 3 and 5 years old and are often based at Sure Start centres or linked to a school, infant/primary.
