Everything academic revolves around the year-end state testing to the point that other subjects are usually neglected. Reading, math and writing are the main thrusts of schools, and are obviously important. However, critics state that children are not receiving well-rounded educations because of the emphasis on these subjects
Lac is it good or the bad students. Many students would agree that it is bad for the student because it teaches them that when they grow up they should be unfair and unreasonable. They will do the same thing to other teens once they are adults, and adults and teens will forever be unhappy with each other. This would also make students lack intelligence because all that time they would be in LAC they could be learning their subject. It will also cause stress for the students because they will have a hard time learning there subject.
Name: Trần Đức Nam Class : A Task 2 It is obvious that people always resist making changes in their lives. It is very difficult to make changes because they are accustomed to a certain style of life. That is also a reason make them encounter a lot of problems. For example, there are a lot of students who are studying at school. They always cheat in the exams.
“Bullying is a big problem that effects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on it’s receiving end” (Lyness 1). Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.
Mindsets In the nonfictional book, “Mindset” written by Carol S. Dweck, she mentions that students get fixed mindsets. There are many ways to cause a student to have one because students may tend to take what parents, teachers, etc… say seriously. She also says that most students get their mindsets from the transaction to a junior high. Students with a fixed mindset will always have bad grades, and the fact that they will always try to blame someone else. A student’s mindset comes from negative labeling from parents or teachers, or stereotypes based on race and class.
Readers could argue that Twain’s main point of the novel was to be offensive. But either way, he did just that. Times have changed and that word has no longer become an acceptable word for people to use. Most African American students grew up being taught that it was a horribly offensive word, and to never use it. So with that being said, many students could feel uncomfortable hearing it at school.
Teachers and administrators recognize, of course, that children bring a plethora of issues with them to the classroom these days...drugs, gangs, violence, family dissolution and stress, financial hardship, and social discrepancy. There are other factors which place children at-risk as well. The number of minority and limited-English-proficiency children in schools is on the rise. We have to do all we can to help these new students, but some teachers feel very ill-prepared to do that. Schools get labeled as failing when they can get all students to the level that the state says they need to be.
Growing up in rough times means rough times in some schools. In Columbine High School Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the victims of bullying throughout high school (Moore). People probably ridiculed them and picked on them because they were considered weird. The bullying and anger got to them and that is probably what caused them to breakdown. Growing up I was bullied plenty of times by insensitive students.
Another problem that social media creates another way for people to bully or have access to emotionally abuse others. Bullying has become a debacle in the news for years on kids that are being abused emotionally and even in some cases physically as well. Bullying has a huge impact on schools and education. In many cases children who are victims of bullying have a lower self-esteem later in life, and are prone to missing more school because of excused and unexcused reasons. This results to kids have lower grades cause they are not there to get the full education and lower grades.
Also, if the child does not perform at his/her best, it greatly reduces the self-esteem not only of the child but the parents as well. The child and parents will receive continuous negative comments and feel pushed away. A child with ADHD’s most difficult environment is in a classroom being told to sit still, do not move, do not talk, and to pay attention to worksheets and finish them. None of these things come easily to parents whose child has ADHD, but day by day, off to school the children
