Interview Structured Standardized Interview Use a structured standardized interview if you plan to interview more than one individuals about your topic and if you plan to use the interview as your main means of gathering information. .A standardized structured questionnaire is administered where specific questions are asked in a set order and in a set manner to ensure no variation between interviews. The structured interview usually denies the interviewer the opportunity to either add or remove questions, or change their sequence or alter the wording of questions. Depth interviews Depth interviews are one-to-one encounters in which the interviewer seeks to explore and uncover deep-seated emotions, motivations and attitudes. They are most often employed when dealing with sensitive matters and respondents are likely to give evasive or even misleading answers when directly questioned. You should develop questions that you plan to ask, but you can add or remove questions, or change their sequence or alter the wording of questions. You cannot use this type of interview as your main means of gathering data. This must be accompanied with the structured standardized interview or questionnaire.
