The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia Al-Mamlakah al-‘Arabiyyah as-Su‘ūdiyyah, also known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Is a large country located in the western part of the continent Asia. It is bordered by the Red Sea on the west and the Persian Gulf on the east. In the north end of the country, it is boarded by Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, and in the south side Yemen, Oman, and United Arab Emirates. It is the heart of the Middle East. It is ruled by a king whose name is Abdul-Aziz bin Saud. He conquered the role in 1932 when he captured Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud, referred to in Arabic as Al Saud. The Saudi Arabian government has been an absolute monarchy since its beginning, and it describes itself as being Islamic. A religion that is practiced by almost everyone living in the country. Saudi Arabia is known as the birth place of Islam and is also known as the “land of the two holy mosques” in reference to Al-Masjid al-Haram that is located in Mecca, and Al-Masjid al-Nabawi that is located in Medina, these are the two holiest places in Islam. Saudi Arabia is known largely because of its oil-based economy with strong government controls over major economic undertakings. It owns about 17 percent of the world's proven fuel reserves and ranks as the largest exporter of oil. The fuel sector accounts for 80 percent of budget revenues and 45 percent of the country’s gross Domestic product, and 90 percent of the export earnings. As of 2012 Saudi Arabia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is worth 657,049 billion U.S. dollars. The Gross Domestic Product value of Saudi Arabia represents 0.93 percent of the world’s economy as of 2012. Just like any country Saudi Arabia’s (GDP) is calculated by the World Bank Group.
