Introducing an ally who resisted the majority caused conformity levels to drop sharply (5%). The presence of an ally makes an individual feel more confident and better able to stand up to the majority. Asch also discovered that people are better able to resist pressure to conform if the decision has a moral dimension. For Asch’s participants, the costs of conforming were not particularly great given the insignificance of the task. However if the behaviour is judged as immoral such as joining others in cheating there is less evidence of conformity as the costs are perceived as greater.
Evelyn Ticey Composition 1 29 November 2014 Saggy Pants Sagging is a popular trend all over the world, it is not a trend that is specific to a location. Sagging is when people, mostly men, sag their pants below their waist exposing their underwear. Some people think that this is an offensive fashion due to the origination and some people considered the clothing style public indecency. Many public officials around the world are trying to outlaw the saggy pants fashion. Even though some may not particularly like the fashion, sagging your pants should not be categorized as indecent exposure or considered illegal activity.
It’s Only A Hook-Up, No Hard Feelings The term “dating” is so overrated and now in the shadows all over our college campuses. Most people now see dating as being an outsider to everyone else and making it harder to enjoy the college experience that every high school student awaits for. Back in the older days you would see couples going out together on Friday nights and spending quality time with one another. Now, Friday night means time to turn up! You will mostly see college kids going out to the club dancing on anything they can grind on, and if they’re lucky they will find someone to take back home to hook up with.
This conveys that there is no convincing reason as to why people should be good because if there cultural says they should do something that is morally wrong, for example killing someone to use them as a sacrifice then in their eyes they are not doing anything wrong they are just following their culture and it doesn't convince them to be good. Absolutists would agree with this statement as they

He found that people were much more likely to relapse when they believed withdrawals were going to be negative. Those who were told to expect no negative withdrawals were less likely to relapse as they had a positive expectation. This provides evidence for the key role expectancy has in relapse. However Tate’s experiment can be criticised. The independent group design could have meant, by chance, the group who were told to expect no negative withdraws, were naturally more determined people, thus increasing their chance of giving up anyway.
1) Making too many excuses for her behavior • “Being male is not a mess of contradictions, the way being female is. It is not trying to resolve how to be both desirable and smart, soft and sturdy, emotional and capable.” (p. 18) • “Ocean City is the perfect place to get caught red-handed… The setting means everyone involved can write the whole mess off as situational.” (p. 55) • “I’ve told myself that I’m drinking and smoking and otherwise acting delinquent because high school has dealt me a shitty hand…” (p. 56) 2) Giving in to peer pressure • “I perform many feats with Natalie that I have no real interest in doing. Emerson’s view on consistency is, once again, completely different form the average view from society. He sees consistency as a bad trait and something that everyone should shy away from. I myself believe that Emerson is right in believing consistency isn’t such a great thing. I believe people should be inconsistent and change their mind if they are given a certain amount of proof to change their mind. This is how Emerson sees consistency; he is very much against it and looks down upon those who do not change their minds.
Modalities are used by altering the language to suit personality and client individuality. Using the correct or dominant modality for clients at the beginning of an induction means that the experience will be enhanced as the sub conscious will be more responsive to the internal representations. Without the use of modalities, clients will have to listen to language imagery that they feel less comfortable with and therefore may feel on edge which may make the hypnosis process less
