Autobiography My name is Ryan Moore and I attend and play football for St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, LA. The institution I attend is more than a school, but a four year military boot camp, and I mean that in the best possible way. I call it a military camp because you learn discipline, work ethic, and school pride. This school has been a great influence on the black community for over 60 years as the first and only all-black all-male catholic school in the world; you will never find another school like St. Aug. My parents are Jerome and Raymonda Moore. My father is a police officer for the N.O.P.D. and has been protecting and serving our city for over 30 years now. All my life I have looked up to my father, his strength and determination really amazes me and wants me to be even a better man than he is. My mother is a court clerk for juvenile court, and has been changing the lives of many for 20 years. My mother in my eyes is sent from God himself. Not once in my lifetime have I seen my mother show hatred or spite for anyone, also she has never given up on anybody; she believes that in everyone there is some good. From hearing from both parents on how easy it is to go to jail and get “caught up” in the system, it is just as hard to get out of jail and get your life back of track. All my life I’ve had dreams of playing on Sunday or Monday nights under the lights. Football to me is much more than a game, to be like life. In football an offense might go out and turn the ball over, just like in life when you go in for a job interview and you might not get the job.
