RONALD REAGAN Born in February 6, 1911 and passing on June 5, 2004 Ronald Reagan was an inspiration to many people serving as president from 1981 to 1989. Past experience that had helped him become this was his position as the 33rd Governor of California serving 1967 to 1975. He was also a radio, TV and a movie actor. His birth state was Tampico, Illinois and ended up being raised in Dixon. He found a college education in the Eureka College. From there he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree by economics and Sociology. After a few years he became an actor staring in many films and eventually getting the spokesmen position for General Electric. While working here he started to get a grip on the world’s politics. He later shifted parties as he studied more about them and became part of the Republican party in the year 1962. later he was convinced to run for governor of California. After that even he did become governor two years later and was elected again in 1970.he finally became the president after a few runs in the 1980 elections beating Jimmy Carter. Once Reagan became the President, he hit the economy and the politics head on. His new program system people liked to call Reaganomics; he would reduce taxes to for the spur economic growth, using the money supply to help reduce the effects of inflation. He started deregulation the economy and a lot of the government spending. As president from 1981 to 1985 he was able to survive an assassination attempt. He took a firm stance at labor unions and he ordered the invasion of Grenada. When re-elections came up again in 1984, he obliterated any chance of anyone else to win in a landslide vote. With his second term now right on the way, he started to focus more on the foreign affairs now that he had the government and economy under control again.
