Romeo is a tragic hero in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. He has many flaws that he doesn’t notices and it leads him to his downfall. He is virtuous and a noble, he has a tragic flaw that he can’t see, since he is doomed by fate, and he suffers a downfall which causes his death. Romeo is a noble from the Montague family. “… The stage is set for the entrance of Romeo, heir of the Montague family” He first appear in the beginning of the story after the fight with the servants. “When they happen to meet servants from the rival house of Montague.” He is virtuous and honorable. He is faithful in love. “Out of her favor where I am in love.” The ball in the Capulet’s house, he meets Juliet for the first time for falls in love. “For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” He is also brave and courageous. He had the courage to sneak into the ball of the Capulet and return to Verona after he was banished by the Prince. Romeo also has tragic flaws, doom by fate, which he can’t see. “A pair of star-crossed takes their life,” Before he snuck into the Capulet’s ball, he had a strange feeling that something will happen. “I fear, too early; for my mind misgives some consequence, yet hanging in the stars.” He fell in love with Juliet, his family’s rival, at the ball. “Did my heart love till now?” Romeo hid by the balcony and spoke to Juliet, ignoring the fact that there are enemies. “Call me but love” Romeo is blinded by love. He stayed after the ball and found Juliet. “With love’s light wings did I o’erpret these walls” He also disregarded who he is and the fact Juliet is his enemy to speak to her. “Hence I never will be Romeo.” Since he was blinded by his flaws, fate causes him to suffer a downfall that leads to his death.
