In reading David McCullough’s speech entitled “The Love of Learning” I found so many passages that stood out to me or that I found impressive. I found his talk as a whole to be just simple, but yet informative, and inspiring to any graduation class that is about to embark on life’s many journeys. But the one passage that I found particularly impressive and inspiring was at the very end. In this passage we read: “Go out and get the best jobs you can and go to work with spirit. Drawing on a conceptual framework for the literature review, we trace the origin and development of humour; examine the effectiveness of humour as a managerial device for improving organizational effectiveness; discuss humour and ambivalence and its impact on power distribution, dissent and division within the workplace; identify cultural differences in humour and explore the use of humour from the Singapore perspective. Data is collated and cross-analysed from the questionnaire participated by 250 individuals from varied industries; partially structured interviews with 15 senior management personnel and a case study of 30 customer service representatives through participant observation at a call centre to address the following
As part of his vision for the business, he focused on re-allocating resources and activities for key positions. He wanted for the employees to concentrate in activities that could transmit advantages that the company could offer to their customers by working and growing together. One of the key positions is the Account Manager; they were responsible to build relationships with software developers and vendors but also to work very close with customers and helping and encouraging them to create value together. Li is a promising account manager and even though he’s been in the company for a short period, his performance on creating relationships with top management had been so far very productive. He has recently been working very hard on a project to help software developers to help them run their business but overtime this project has become more and more complex.
I was over the moon when my mentor commended my actions and reaction during and after Mr Brooks aggression and verbal abuse towards me. He said I did the right thing to seek assistance and also communication with Mr Brooks was very therapeutic and it goes a long way and helps particularly with patient with dementia and in mental health nursing as a whole. He said communication enable you to gain patient trust and respect. According to Nursing and Midwifery professional code of conduct, the people in your care must be able to trust you with their health and wellbeing (NMC 2008). Eventually, I was able to assist Mr Brooks with his personal hygiene needs and was also able to follow the standard procedure.
