Gun control laws have become such a huge controversy in the United States due to the fact that citizens believe their Second Amendment right is being taken away from them. In my eyes, I believe that extended gun control measures should be taken to ensure that access to assault weapons should be limited to certain people. I believe one deserve a well rounded background check to see if any mental health issues are visible. I also believe you have the right to own a weapon and the government is not trying to take away your hunting rifles, personal permitted handguns, etc. They government is emphasizing more on the fully automatic weapons, explosives, armor and other things that only the military should have access to.
Both of these events sparked many debates on the topic of guns and how to stop these events from happening. Gun control in America is a very controversial topic with advocates pushing for more restrictions and anti gun control supporters pushing for fewer laws on gun control. With no straight forward answer
Gun control laws do help prevent this from happening as often. Not every individual should be allowed to own a gun, especially people who want to cause harm to others. Plenty of people who are law abiding citizens, and follow gun law regulations, feel as though they are punished for people’s violent actions. An example of a group of people who are against gun control laws are the members of the National Rifle Association. (Scalia, 2011) In states like California, the gun violence is one of the biggest problems the citizens and government officials face on a daily basis.
They think the laws and licensing are loose. In 2006, third two states are required the background information checks for purchases firearm (Moorhouse 105). In October 1997, factories of gun in the U.S. accept to install a trigger locks on handguns. It also had a vote about training for all gun users in November, but it failed (Jost 1105). Although I am a supporter of gun control, I think the result of this vote was totally correct because it involved a huge number of the gun users in the United States, and who should pay the money for that training if the
They are rare and hard to get access to, having very strict licensing laws. The pro-arming argument is that the Police would be a deterrent and would protect the officers. People who say that arming the Police would be a deterrent use other armed countries as an example of why we should have it; I don't believe this is an accurate view of the matter. Worldwide 2011 crime statistics show that in the USA there were 12, 664 murders, and 8,583 were caused by firearms. Compared to the UK where 648 murders where only 58 were caused by firearms.
America has the right to bear arms, but to some people it’s a threat such as the law enforcement. Many citizens can “defend” themselves by shooting back at the police men or women. Having the right to bear arms has been the right since the thirteen colonies were established; it can be good for some reasons, and bad for others. The second amendment of the Constitution is a part of the Bill of Rights, which protects the rights of the people to keep and bear arms if you are within a militia. This amendment was adopted on December 15, 1971, such as the other bill of rights.
But if we as Americans have no way of protecting ourselves and the ones we love, then what is going to happen if the fight comes to our front door? What I mean is what if another country wants to come over here and take our freedoms away? There is a reason that there is an Amendment to give us the right to carry a gun. Everyone who opposes it, in my opinion isn’t thinking outside the box. Let’s look at the crime rate in our Nation’s Capital as opposed to a state that really has no control laws.
Gun Control With the number of recent school shootings across the United States, gun control has been a provocative issue for many years. A large majority of American citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would rapidly reduce the jeopardy of lives. Many citizens believe they should have the right to carry a gun if not for protection of themself, but for their family as well, not to mention for the great American pastime of hunting. As long as the law is followed, Americans have a constitutional right to own hand guns; stricter laws and licensing requirements will not successfully save lives. The second amendment gives the right to American’s to bear arms; it basically states that with a well regulated military
Millions of dollars are thrown in the wind as your gun collection is being appropriated. This threat is a reality for many faultlessly sane gun owners, coming from invasive government organizations like Handgun Inc. While other nations are getting along fine with universal conscription, we, the citizens, are being dictated to by some intrusive government organizations which, in their existence, violate the Constitution of the United States. Furthermore, many gun control advocates say that gun control legislation cuts down on gun violence and leads to a safer society. Although this may be seemingly true, when one delves deeper into this subject and looks at the statistics and recent events, one can conclude that less restrictive gun control laws and the absence of gun control laws would
In the United States men and women own over 250+ million firearms. These people own guns to give themselves security and safety against violent home intruders, but there are those who think otherwise. The Opposition of gun ownership rights say that the guns in society are the leading causes of violent gun crimes. However, whether guns are legal or not, they will end up in criminal hands, and once they are in the hands of criminals, there is nothing to stop these criminals from injuring and killing defenseless citizens. Guns have been a controversial issue for nearly a century, but guns have been in American hands since its foundation.
