Nevertheless, the two Damms remained there nearly two hours conversing and drinking coffee. Apparently, it was the intention of Damms to induce reconciliation between mother and daughter, hoping it would result in one between himself and his wife, but not much progress was achieved in such direction. At the conclusion of the conversation, Mrs. Damms expressed the wish to phone for a taxicab to take her to work. Damms insisted on her getting into his car, and said he would drive her to work. They again entered his car, but instead of driving south toward her place of employment, he drove in the opposite direction.

David Everts Jr. English 153 Tenenbaums Essay Julie Hewitt “The Royal Tenenbaums” During the last class I participated in the viewing of a film “The Royal Tenenbaums.” The film told the story of the Tenenbaums family. Characters included Royal (father), Etheline (mother), and three children Chas, Richie, and an adopted daughter Margot. The film was of a 1970s feel. Royal and Etheline had separated when the children were still very young, but they never filed for divorce. Nobody in the family had talked to Royal in decades until he found that Etheline was considering marrying another man in which case he told her that he was dying in order to try to get back in the family but truthfully trying to stop the marriage.

What inspired me the most from the Drink and Drive presentation was when Sarah Gino started sharing her story. My first impression of Sarah Gino was the obvious, “she is young, beautiful, and she is blind.” But when she started talking about her story it really had me putting things into prospective. After Sarah was helped onto stage by her Dad, she started talking about an accident that involved her. She mentioned nine years ago, on a nice January day, she and her EX decided to ask his Dad to borrow his car in other for them to go to his cottage. Her ex’s Dad said “ OK” on that note, she decided to invite her sister and her sister’s boyfriend to the cottage as well.
