By communicating with each other through letter, Nettia has been more independent and gained self confined knowing that Ceila will always be there for her. So in pg 155 it says “no mateer what I’m doing, I’m writing to you”. This is Netie which is talking to Celia, and is alwys communicating to her, because the relation between each other has helped Nettie . The reason why the other has brought in this theme is because this
I am reacting to the way Palczewski seamed to emphasis that letter’s, as a form of rhetoric, are best effective when it appeals to Pathos. Palczewski describes how letters can create a sense of intimacy that does not exsists in other rhetorical tools. It is this intimacy, according to Palczewski, that helps move 3rd World Women Writers into action. Palczewski states; “The letter’s address to a particular group creates an immediacy not found in other forms of communication and the form foregrounds an explicit exchange with a reader to whom the writing is directed.” I believe that Palczewski should not over emphasis style and eloquence in letters. Although I do agree with rehtors George Campbell and Augustine that eloquence and style are needed to move masses, I also believe that rhetoric needs to contain equal amounts of facts.
Every observation I’m noticing some similarities that take place in every section. Things such as: The way greetings take place, the way they start the joining process, the way they affirm clients and the words that they often repeat when closing a section. I can see that my therapeutic vocabulary is increasing little by little. I’ve been learning new words. Since I’m an ESL speaker, this is definitively enriching me but at the same time stretching and challenging me to grow.
This statement used by Blackwell can be especially motivating for women. For the greater part of history, women have generally been considered inferior to men, however the prestige and importance of medical career may play a huge factor in the motivation for the students to stop this trend of women inferiority. “Our only hope is in women!” (page 285). These bold words in the address motivate the students with the implication of obligation. Blackwell is motivating her listeners to pursue medicine not only for themselves but also as an obligation to improve medical practice.
The book, The Story of My Life is an interesting recollection of the life of Helen Keller. Her remarkable intelligence and ability to write is one that I truly admire. Helen Keller was born a healthy child. When Helen was 19 months old, she became sick with what was known as acute congestion of the brain and stomach; this is now known as scarlet fever. As a result of the fever, she was left blind and deaf.
By that, her will power to change the balance between men and women in sport, is made evident, as well as her endeavour to cross the line of prejudice towards women in sports. The sail is decorated by signs of “BT”: a communication company; this shows her sponsors and the support she has for her good cause as well as her contact and ties with other women for the same cause, and who are there to support her, even from a very large distance. Furthermore, Ellen Mac Arthur’s resolute gaze ahead expresses her hope and certitude of a clear future for women. In addition, the sun penetrating through the clouds suggests a bright forthcoming and the beginning of a change in sport for women. In the background, there are many clouds, and the sea is tormented; the dark colour identifies the difficulty of the voyage she is undertaking, as well as the dangers she will encounter.
Through the use of marketing tools and techniques, the Girl Scouts of America were able to evolve with the times while keeping their core values in place. With further refinement of their marketing approach they will be able to continue to provide their unique, valuable brand of service to even more young women all over the world. II. Situational Analysis A. Environment 1.
Christine Rankin gave her associates enough autonomy and authority to make decisions about making on the spot decisions in most of the benefit application cases. She empowered her employees by transferring some powers to them so that they accept responsibility and accountability for improving the benefit application process but also had the authority to make decisions based on the judgment of what is best for the organization. Christine Rankin showed initiative and bore the risk- therefore winning her favor from her employees by placing trust in them. She controlled the processes for processing the benefit applications by establishing the system of spot checks and evaluation process. Rankin’s confidence and boldness showed through in the successful formation and implementation of the idea.
In labouring to achieving this I will carry on to use the reflection processes often to confirm that I can recognise areas that I need to develop on and areas that I have confident effect on. The self-awareness subject have helped me most in identifying the importance of managing myself in words, thoughts, feelings and action in a group setting because not only are we affected individually but we also can affect other people’s lives in either a helpful or harmful way. Self-awareness has also helped me to identify a strength that I can contribute to the nursing practice group in the future which is that I am a built-up person. I am open to ideas and constructive criticism from colleagues and have the ability to better understand people and offer compensate service of care. Know I am feeling good being in a group work environment whether it is a small group or big group because it always has a purpose to benefit all of the group members and can continuously learn from other people.
This experience showed me that working together is important and you can learn a lot from others on the team. Being an active member of the cheerleading squad enabled me to see just how much a sport can change a person’s life. I contributed to the team by helping out wherever I was needed. Sometimes I spotted girls that were flyers and other times I was a flyer. I contributed patience to the team because when I could not get a dance down I did not give up.
